My husband and I spent 2 nights at Caribou Lodge--the trip was for our 40th anniversary--there was wonderful scenery, wonderful food, wonderful company and a wonderful dog! Cabins werer very comfortable and enjoyed the walks and picking blueberries--a great place if you want peace and quiet. Perhaps a few more activity options offered for the price. We would surely go back there is we ever visit Alaska again.

Room Tip: Take warm slippers as the custom is to take shoes off before going into the house (lodge) where you go over to eat.

Caribou Lodge is a great place to get away from the crowds and see what Alaska really is all about. My family (2 adults and two boys) had a great time hiking and exploring. Joe and Bonnie are incredible hosts. Joe spent more time with us leading hikes and showing us the best berries to eat than we could have ever expected. The location is amazing and we really appreciated being off the grid. It was wonderful seeing the kids' i-pads run out of batteries and they had to look up and experience the incredible scenery! While we did not see much wildlife, the views and experience more than made up for it. My only complaint is that Bonnie is too good a cook! With all the hiking we did, I would have liked to have lost a little weight. Instead, I think I might have come back heavier thanks to Bonnie! Absolutely one of the highlights of our family vacation!

Joel,

Thank you for coming and bringing your family to the lodge this summer. You kept us on our toes with your quick banter and your family was fun to have around. We immensely enjoyed spending time around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and laughing at the boys foot races up the hill. We hope your family is doing well and that you and your family will be able to make it back here to Alaska and Caribou Lodge.

Best wishes,
Bonnie and Joe

We spent 10 days traveling through Alaska, but our time at Caribou Lodge was the best part of our trip! The property is gorgeous, the food amazing, and we have never slept better. It felt like an authentic Alaskan experience where we were able to turn off our cell phones and truly enjoy the great outdoors that surround Caribou Lodge.
Packing Tip: no need to pack snacks, but bring your binoculars. The lodge has you covered with 3 excellent meals (including dessert!) as well as snacks for hikes and such. The only thing we packed in addition to clothes was our own wine to enjoy in the evening at our cabin. And you'll want your binoculars... We saw plenty of wildlife including Caribou and Moose!

Room Tip: No outlets in the room, however the main lodge had outlets for charging up phones/camera batteries. However we enjoyed being "disconnected" for a few days!

One of our all time favorite vacations!! Zac was great about giving us lots of info even before we booked and Bonnie and Joe made our stay perfect! The guest cabins are very clean and comfortable. The outhouse and shower facilities were also clean and convenient. The real jewel though is the experience created by Bonnie and Joe is such beautiful country! They made us feel welcome from the minute we stepped off the plane and made sure that we had a fun and educational experience! The land around the lodge is so picturesque and we saw lots of wildlife: beaver, caribou, bear, moose, and assorted birds. Joe took us out on daily hikes and shared a ton of knowledge with us. Bonnie's food is to die for!! I seriously gained a pound a day when we stayed! Howie the dog also made our stay so special as we were missing our dog back home. He was very well behaved and loving! There are amazing views of Denali from many places on the property and we took the pictures of a lifetime! I also LOVED grazing on all the Berries around the property. Our coguest Tisha was also amazing; I think Caribou Lodge attracts good people! We can't wait to book our next stay! Joe and Bonnie do an outstanding job of hosting and they are wonderful down to earth people!!

Rebecca (and Ken),

Thank you for your visit this summer, we enjoyed your company so much! Howie was in heaven with all the affection and attention! You both were such gracious guests, quick to offer assistance as well as adding laughter and fun around the dinner table. Congratulations on your "berry foraging badge", you were a great student! We hope you will be able to make it back here one day.

Best wishes,
Bonnie and Joe Bramante

Every time Denali came into view, I gasped. For four days! Every time! I had no idea what to expect from this trip. Its rural Alaska afterall, so who knows! Every single one of my expectations were exceeded.

Joe and Bonnie embody hospitality. They both give their guests room for solitude, and entertain them with stories of life in the Alaska Bush.

The accommodations are both spartan and cozy. So you feel you are "roughing" it, without actually roughing anything. The outhouses are the cleanest I have ever experienced. Who needs flush toilets?

I truly had the time of my life and will come back with my whole family.

Bring your patience - it might rain, for days! You will slow down and experience the rejuvenation and joy of life in the bush with Alaska's best hosts.

Tisha,
Thank you for coming to stay at the lodge this summer. We get a lot of guests over the season, but you were one we will always remember. We had so much fun with you and were so proud of how quickly you earned your "berry foraging badge"! Since you have been gone the dragon sightings have been few and far between! :)
We look forward to seeing you and your family again, after all, your still need to earn your "wildlife badge". ( I hope you received binoculars for your birthday and have had a lot of time to glass)

Best wishes,
Joe and Bonnie Bramante
