Attraction details
Owner description: Eliphante is on the banks of Oak Creek in Cornville, Arizona. It is home to the outdoor artworks and sculptures of Michael Kahn and Leda Livant Kahn, as created for nearly 30 years. Built out of found and natural materials, it remains cared for by Eliphante, Ltd., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Members and donors who wish to support this unique, otherworldly, outdoor folk art environment also contribute to its advancement towards becoming a commercial outdoor art museum, as it is presently zoned a private residence and not open to the general public.

Elephante is quite the experience! Located along Oak Creek out with nature. The whole place from the art, structures, surroundings are spectacular. It is a vortex in Cornville, many great vibrations as you walk through each place, your mouth will be open in awe.

You can't just wonder into this place and look around. You need an appointment, so call ahead.

The caretakers are wonderful, kind, dedicated people. They will help you feel very welcome.

It is difficult to explain the art here. It's not the kind of art you see hanging on the wall of museums. It's the kind of art that people live and breathe. I don't think the artist could help but create.

The dwellings are so colorful and just dang cool.

I actually don't have words to describe how fantastic this place is.

this place is built in a river bed. it is very cool. they used wood and rock from the river bed to build some of it. It has stained glass all over in various places. this is a must see and is off the beaten path. locals dont even know about it. i was told all donations go to help the elephants and thats a good reason to visit it.

It's true that many locals don't know about Eliphante, although that changes more every day. All proceeds of membership to Eliphante go to support preservation and restoration of these amazing works of art. There are no live elephants here, although caretakers may refer to themselves as Eliphanteers, they are not pachyderms, but rather volunteers. Anyway, thanks for the great review!
