In November of 2014 I booked a night in a cabin for my family. With the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, we realized we would not have time to stay overnight while we went up north to get our Christmas tree. I called immediately and cancelled the reservation.

Upon doing our taxes with our account in Aprile we came across a giant charge from Molly Butler Lodge for the "vacation" we did not use. I immediately called to reconcile the problem but was told to call back when the manager was available. I called 3 more times only to be told over and over an over that only a manager could reverse the HUGE charge on my credit card. Well it has been almost a year and we still have not been refunded our money. I have called, I have sent them emails, what do I have to do? Knock no their door? DO NOT TRUST MOLLY BUTLER LODGE WITH YOUR VISA INFORMATION. They are NOT TO BE TRUSTED and in my opinion they are THIEVES. I honestly don't know how they run a business this way. Such a shame.

I made a reservation for 2 night on September 22. The date of stay was to be October 7 & 8. A charge for the first night was made to my credit card on September 22nd and another charge for the second night was made on September 30th, a week before my scheduled stay. On October 6th I called to cancel the reservation due to a medical emergency that required me to travel to Phoenix. I just got off the phone with the reservation desk and was told that's the way they do it. If you don't cancel more than a week in advance you are stuck with the full charge. THIS IS ONE BIG RIP OFF. NEVER BOOK WITH THIS GROUP.
I have a rental apartment on VRBO and never require the final payment until the day of arrival. The only risk if cancelling is the deposit.

We are sorry to hear your are not happy with our company. Due to the nature of our business and past experiences most cabin rental companies in Greer require payment in full 14- 30 days in advance. Our cancellation policy is stated over the phone, on the website, and by email confirmation. However, we would like to reconcile this issue with you. If you could email your confirmation code and booking information to mblkayla@gmail,com I would be happy to take a second look at your situation.

Sincerely,

Kayla Nelson
General Manager

We made some last minute reservations at this lodge based on a recommendation by another couple who recently visited the area. We stayed in lodge room #4 and the room reeked of mildew. We knew the room would be 'historic' so we wern't expecting much, but honestly, it was the hardest bed we've ever slept (tried to sleep) on. The bathroom had zero space for amenities and the shower was really more of a drip than a shower. We had booked for two nights and only stayed one.
The restaurant was great. It was a Sunday night so the usual weekend crowds were not there. (We had been advised that a weekend stay at the adjacent lodge rooms could be quite noisy.) We would visit Greer again, but probably pass on staying at the MBL.

Room tip: Room #1 is closest to the bar. Room #5 is furthest from the bar and much quieter, however it is right in front of the staircase so you do hear some foot traffic on the wooden walkway..

Thank you for your review, it is always helpful to know if there are issues with any stay from our guests. We have renovated a number of our rooms and added the Greer Peaks Lodge rooms as well to our roster. We hope that you will find them more enjoyable on your next visit!

The cabins were great, everyone was friendly, the views were breath taking!! The food is amazing and their bar has a fun atmosphere! I love going to Greer and Molly butlers has everything Greer can offer. There is fishing, hiking, sight seeing, minutes away from Eager to see antique shops. The white mountains are beautiful to see during the summer and the Fourth of July is one of the best times! Thank you Molly butlers for having awesome food, amazing cabins, and the best customer service for miles!!!
