Our three night stay at the Woodbury tented camp was brilliant. Our guide was great and we got to see lots. We did have a bit of a medical issue while we were there (nothing to do with the camp) and the staff were amazing. Nikki, Corlia, Dylan and Giles were incredible and really helped us out. Really recommend it

This was an all inclusive stay which had a well planned itinerary. As described on the website, arrival includes a drink. After lunch we had our first drive. Lasted about three hours. Dinner was communal at one long table. The tent is definitely not the standard one found in the bush. Secure, spacious and not too warm or cold. There is an early sunrise drive, where blankets are provided. Ryan was our guide and answered questions well. The guides communicate with other guides and this makes it possible to see animals rather than looking for them most of the time. Wide variety of animals in a natural environment. Well worth the time and money.

We stayed at Woodbury for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon. We would definitely recommend doing a safari at the beginning of your trip as the early starts can be tiring. Three nights is the perfect amount of time at the camp with plenty of opportunity to see everything you want to. We saw cheetah, lion, elephant, zebra, impala, water buffalo, rhino, giraffe and much more. All within a very close distance. The guides are very good at ensuring the animals are well cared for while maintaining an authentic environment for them and ensuring that there are not too many vehicles trying to see the animals at once. On many drives we didn’t even come near another vehicle.

Seamus was our guide and he was fantastic. Friendly with a great sense of humour and very knowledgable. All the staff at the camp are great and we greatly enjoyed the excellent food. The tents are a very good size, we were lucky to have a deck over looking the reserve and the electric blankets were definitely needed! Make sure you take lots of layers! The other facilities within the tent are basic but perfectly adequate and in keeping with the camps website. If you are looking for a more affordable safari with excellent game available then this is the place for you.

We spent 3 nights at Woodbury tented camp on Amakhala game reserve in early September 2017 as part of a trip to S Africa for my 60th birthday. It was a great experience. The facilities made for an authentic safari trip with excellent game drives, early mornings and late afternoons, knowledgeable and fun game wardens, and friendly staff. The owner had dinner with us one evening and trilled us with tales of the history of the reserve and his knowledge of the wildlife. Excellent trip.
