Brilliant food, though at Joburg prices for a small town- it is worth it. Try make a reservation for earlier as their specials sell out and are the highlight for me. Good wine list with some real bargains. Have a drink in the bar first, it is quaint and the bartender is very welcoming. Good fireplace and service and nice garden to nip off into if you need nicotine.

The service was brilliant - really going the extra mile for me. And the food was delicious. You do pay for what you get, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Had a delicious mean at the historic Norden's. The service was excellent and the fillet steak exceptional. Definitely, for me, the best Restuarant in Grahamstown. Have eaten there over many years when in Grahamstown and they have kept up the quality.

The site has great historical significance. The Cock House was built on the land granted in 1826 to Benjamin Norden, a Jewish merchant and pioneer from London. He became one of Grahamstown's most prominent citizen's. Later he moved to Cape Town where he inaugurated the first Jewish congregation,

Some reviews talk of small portions and I thought it would be a case of quality over quantity but it wasn't. Main courses were very average considering their simplicity and carpaccio starter was buried in the salad. The apple and pear crumble dessert saved the meal. Service was friendly and quick.

The food was different and very good. We had friends who are very into their food with us and they loved it.
The building is lovely and the ambience is great. Its a little quiet but thats not a bad thing. There is a bar but we never had a drink in the bar first.
I look forward to going back.
