A little stroll from 7th street - be careful it sort of merge with the mexican next door. The decor is simple, trendy, the service (thanks Caleb) was excellent, and the food stunning !
We shared the Pork Gochujang (you need to sit outside ifs cooked at your table). The favours really tickled the tongue - highly recommended. For desert we had the Japensese cheesecake and the sesame ice cream ( yes really, and it is is delicious).

I can't stop thinking about the black sesame seed ice cream I had yesterday at Love Me So in Melville. And I really am not an ice cream fan, nor a dessert eater. Perhaps it is because it was savoury, sweet and salty all in one, and nutty, and creamy, and we just couldn't stop eating it until the bowl was licked clean. And we also loved the Japanese cotton cheesecake. But I am starting backwards, aren't I?!
Our starters were all gorgeous ... sauteed bok choy, tempura calamari with wasabi mayo, seared tuna tataki, and sweet potato pancakes.
For the ramen bowls, it is quite fun choosing your broth, then your protein, and then four toppings out of a list of about a dozen toppings. Our waiter Andile was a great help explaining good combos. The broths were really excellent, loved the tofu, and have never-ever tasted pork belly quite so succulent, tender and flavourful. Perhaps the only negative was that the noodles seemed to be ordinary shop-bought egg noodles, and I guess I was expecting homemade noodles like PRON serves.
Love Me So has a really appealling and extensive cocktail offering, as well as plenty of wines by the glass. I chose Kloof Street Chenin (Mullineux wines) by the glass, which stood up well to the complex Asian flavours of our food.
The restaurant is quite dark, but there are pavement tables if you prefer. I think the atmosphere must be lovely at night.
The restaurant is where The Leopard used to be, I think, on 4th Avenue. We parked underground at 27 Boxes and walked half a block, rather than trying to find street parking.
Definitely going back!

I stumbled across this gem, by accident having told friends to meet me at Perron in Melville without realizing that there are in fact three restaurants in that building. I walked in without a reservation happy as you please. The staff were amazing and found me a table for three even though all but one of the tables had reservation signs on them.

Cocktail hour is from 5 to 7 and oh my goodness their gin bar and their cocktail selection is varied. The wait staff brag about their ( oh don’t know the fancy name) bar man. And then I realized we had stumbled into an Asian fusian restaurant which serves a combination of Korean, Japanese and Chinese oh so delicious dishes. The gore (shiitake mushroom dumplings) oh my goodness.

I loved the Korean barbecue and their Asian tapas, my favorites being the edamame, the pickled cucumber, the potato croquettes and oh, oh, oh the fish steamed In coconut milk for those of us Banting. The Tiramisu is to die for.

The menu is limited but what they have on offer they do well. This place has a young vibe, the staff are in the ball and well trained and well what can i say. I have been back once since my first visit and will be going back again

Thank Marion G
