Visiting my mum in South Africa, we opted for Chefs which is in close proximity to her Retirement Village. We all had delicious chicken livers and they treated us with a pre-lunch appetiser on the house. They have a good wine list and they really go out of their way to serve you. I think as soon as they will start to get busy, this could really become a very enjoyable and favourite meeting place for the locals. My mum certainly will be back.

Cheffs@566 is a fairly new reataurant in the Menlyn area but boy-oh-boy, what an orgasmic experience!!!! Chef Brett (previously a private chef for our own Madiba - President Nelson Mandela) is preparing all meals individually and with love.

This restaurant or cafe is not to be confused with Chefs on Deck which is also located in Pretoria close by. The artisan bread is good but over priced. The sandwiches where dry and flavorless. Service took forever and communication was not good. Great Coffee. Not over the mood but not bad. Good atmosphere, modern but cozy.

My wife and I visited Chefs for a lunch. We both ordered a "Fillet A Le Creme". We expected an ordinary fillet steak. What a surprise - the most most enjoyable dish, to nice to describe was served. On telling waiter Andile (good service) to compliment the chef, Mr Fred, owner, visit our table and told us the how he developed the superb dish. Visit Chefs and taste it!

There are seating available on a wooden deck as well as inside this restaurant. We received a complimentary Sunday Newspaper on our table. We were quickly placed at an outside wood deck table and the drinks arrived promptly. The breakfast was prepared by hands that went the extra mile. The toast had different options, scrambled eggs was delightful, beacon was either crisp or softer. I opt for the softer beacon. As desert there were waffles and hand prepared cream similar to what you enjoy with scones and cream. This visit will be repeated possibly for the lovely Sunday lunch!!!
