Owner description: The Cheetah Centre in South Africa was established in 1971, initially as a cheetah breeding project and the Centre has during the past 40 years bred over 800 cheetah cubs. Various conservation projects have been initiated since its inception which also inlcudes a successful African wild dog breeding programme. Known in the past as the De Wildt Cheetah Centre the name has recently been changed to the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre as a tribute to the woman who has devoted her life to the survival of the cheetahs as well as other rare and endangered species

An opportunity to get very close to cheetahs. Tour guide was very knowledgeable about all the animals and birds (wild dogs, hyenas, honey badger, vultures)

Worth to be there and support the center. In this place you'll be able to spot the cheetahs, meerkats, different types of birds, wild dogs, hyenas and many more. Surprising and very interesting tour, excellent for nature and animals lovers. Very friendly and helpful staff, sharing a lot of knowledge and always ready to answer all the questions. Better to book in advance, as otherwise animals might be fed earlier, so you might not be able to see the "show".

An amazing chance for couples or families to get out in nature and see cheetahs, wild dogs, cape vultures, various antelope and other wild animals close up. The staff are very friendly, the tour is informative and the facilities are well kept. Great place to visit.

This place is truly amazing. You can see the passion and enthusiasm in all the staff. We were staying about an hour away in a lodge and I did the tour and cheetah run with our 8 and 10-year-old. The kids loved it and learnt so much. It was so good, I made my husband skip some work thing and go a few days later.
Our guide was called Leche and she was incredible. She was so knowledgeable and I would have to say the most wonderful guide we have ever, ever had. Our daughter was not a fan of Vultures before her visit. Before she left with the knowledge passed on by Leche that vultures are so important to the wildlife cycle, she is now going to adopt a vulture!!
If you are anywhere in the area, make sure you drop in and support this wonderful centre and the fantastic work they do.
Would highly recommend. Thank you so much Leche and the rest of the staff.
