Lovely get away almost in the middle of the city where you forget that you are in a built up area. The attached nursery is well stocked and provides a refreshing change.

This used to be a really great coffee shop hidden in the suburbs. We went for a birthday and left so disappointed. The place smelled of old oil, the food was terrible. What was described on the menu did not arrive. Will not be returning. Needs new life urgently.

What a treat Green with Envy is! From the little gift shop to the beautiful gardens and restaurant, it's all so stunning. A real delight! The eggs Benedict and the salmon Benedict are delicious and the fruit cocktail is fresh and a real treat.

Met a friend for a casual coffee break, had a very pleasant time, sat outside under the stunning trees and enjoyed the free wi-fi while waiting. Nothing amazing, but a peaceful break from the traffic noise and mall coffee shops!

This venue is outstanding in terms of its position. The huge fig trees provide a verdant ambience filled with birdsong that is hard to beat. Remember that this little restaurant is in the heart of a thriving nursery with a wonderful art gallery to boot! The restaurant windows, that are normally open wide to let the garden in, provide a view over the city and out to sea that is hard to beat. Going on those two factors alone, one would think this is the best secret in Durban but that is not so because the food does not live up to the promise of the view and the surroundings.

The menu is quite short and specialises in pancakes both savoury and sweet. For me, they are the best things on the menu although neither kind is outstanding. When I was there most recently, they were out of Coke and didn't have iced tea in the lemon flavour that I love. It is such a pity that the restaurant does not deliver on the promise but I and my friends and colleagues continue to frequent it because it provides an opportunity for laid back hours of conversation, and quick scan of the latest newspapers, while having something light to eat. The rating does not provide halves, or I would have rated it 3 and half - as it favours the 'very good' rating more than the 'average' one. Finally, it is DEFINITELY worth trying, if only to sit under those incredible trees and think of the history of Durban that they have witnessed.
