“Lovely gardens and zoo”

The zoo was a hit with my child. Loved walking around and seeing the animals and birds. Entry to the gardens is free but the zoo has a minimal fee. For adults it is R11. For kids below 12 it is R8 and pensioners it is R5.

Lots of benches and well maintained grass if you wish to pack a picnic basket. There is also a restaurant on site.

The play area has swings and see saws and jungle gym which was busy but equipment is in fair condition.

Nice way to spend 2 to 3 hours if u have.

A relaxing place to walk especially with babies & toddlers who can run around in a safe place - there are also good play areas - one next to the excellent Blue Zoo restaurant often has a friendly Child Minder on hand ...

Mitchell Park is as its always been a bit run down I suppose its due to lack of funding. I was a bit disappointed today to see that the flamingos are now gone. Its fine for small children but once you have been you don't need to go back for a long time.

This amazing venue has it all, for the tiny entrance fee they ask the kids have a ball, animals, wide open spaces, play park and we have attended many birthday parties here- we go at least once every 2 months - it is a must

For a small fee you get entrance into what is a mini zoo. They have some really interesting and rare animals. There are lots of different birds, monkeys and various other types of animals as well. Kids would love this place. It is also a nice park where you can spend the day having a picnic and just relaxing with the family.
