This is a typical Friday post-Jummah Salaat lunch that has become legendary. It has become so popular that an additional venue, Crescent Hall, has been hired to cater for the holiday crowds on Fridays during the December-January school holidays. Since Christmas 2015 fell on Friday, all three venues were very busy, with Crescent Hall catering for about 600 patrons. One gets good value for money - different kinds of sweet dishes as starters, a few beryanis, the traditional dhall and rice, and even chicken with rolls. Add to that papadum, sambas and pickles - it is just like the traditional family meal home, but with a very large family! Solly Manjra himself exhorts you to eat to your fill and beyond - his "argument" is that the wife should not have to prepare supper on Friday evening if you take advantage of the various offerings on his buffet table!!!
