This Sanparks facility is superb. The well grassed camp sites are level and the sites along the river a very pleasant indeed. Ablutions are in a nice condition albeit not always very clean. Security appears to be good and some super nature walks are available. The walk to the waterfall is a nice one indeed. Note there is no shop in the park but there are shops in close proximity but not in walking distance. This is a great spot to relax and to enjoy the river and the closely located, magnificent beach. There is also much to do in the surrounding area and towns like, Knysna, Sedgefield and George are also fairly close buy.

Room tip: Choose a camp site along the river front.

I often jog through Ebb & Flow and I'm totally overwhelmed by this stunning resort. Definitely 5 stars for the staff, they're always super friendly and the facilities are clean. Well done everyone and thank you for keeping this facility in such a superb condition, it gives me hope for South Africa.

The restcamp in the Wilderness National Park. Has a number of different forms of accommodation from campsites to fairly luxurious cabins. Book through the SANParks website. We stayed in a log cabin raised up on stilts to give a good view across the reedbed - cabins 8, 9, and 10 have the best views. We hired a canoe at the National Park and (after signing several indemnity forms!) spent a peaceful hour paddling up the river. We saw pied, but not half-collared kingfishers.
This is self-catering with a well equipped kitchen and outside braai (barbecue) area. There is a store in Wilderness and a supermarket in Knysna.
Local activities are walking (trails and lagoon side - map from the camp office), canoes for hire in the national park, walking on the beach, birdwatching.

Room tip: Cabins 8, 9 and 10 have great views across the reedbed.

If you are looking for cheap accommodation in Wilderness, the rondavels are good value for money. They are basic but provide the essentials. Ebb and flow is a pretty rest camp. Wilderness is not one of my favourite national parks though, its a bit small and not breath taking like others.

We were amazed at this beautiful well kept camp. Our sincerest compliments to Sanparks!! We stayed in the basic, wooden Forest cabins which were overlooking the river. Clean and packed with the necessary basics and comfortable clean bedding. It is so lovely and peaceful at this camp, the bird life is amazing and there is so much to do nature wise. We took our canoe with us and canoed slowly up river for about an hour until you cannot row anymore. We parked the canoe and walked about 40 minutes on a wooden decked path to the beautiful waterfall which was worth the trip! There are several other walks and hikes to do and then of course, you can go out of the camp to the beautiful beach or the restaurants nearby. We barbecued every night to enjoy the full nature experience... enjoying the serenity and the beautiful views. My suggestion is take swimwear with you, a rugsack packed with lunch and enjoy swimming in the pool by the waterfall... its worth the time spent there. We'll most definitely be back soon...

Room tip: All the forest cabins are in a quiet area, standing alone. The camping area is fabulous for campers and caravaners.
