A sincere thank you to Susan, Julio, Julio Jnr and Wilhelm for a memorable 60th sunday luch spend at their home. The hospitality was great and so was the food. A special thanks for accommodating my wife's celiac, maize and soya allergy and our friends lactose intollerance
A bit of communication before the time helped and your efforts to work around the allergy ingredients, did not in any way compromised the excellent food
Sincerely appreciated and thanks again

This is our second visit, and we love this place. Its only open for lunch on a Sunday, you take your own wine, and you eat in the owners house. The menu is short and uncomplicated, but absolutely exquisite. Fresh homemade bread with farm butter is seriously moreish, and can spoil your appetite for what is to come. Most of us had the Moroccan Lamb which was packed with flavour and very tender. Most of the produce is sourced locally, and the owner will gladly explain what is actually made by themselves. Leave space for their ice creams. There are some interesting flavour combinations, which one doesn't see at other eating establishments. This is a pace where you go for a long , lazy Sunday lunch. It is in the country, with beautiful views of the mountains and forests. What an experience!!

You know by the many bookings that you have found a gem in the countryside ! This is it ! Julio, Susan and son provides an afternoon of real home and delicious fresh cooking with no less than 4 main course meats and 6 home made ice creams in their own home / barn / stoep catering ! You have to experience it to appreciate it !! Ask to bake own bread if time allows to provide great team / family event !! Highly recommended !!

My good wife and I joined four friends and went to Bistro Celerio for their Sunday lunch experience. Firstly I must say that we are from Knysna and the drive there along the 7 passes road is in itself a wonderful eye opening delight. The bistro is on a farm situated within some of the most amazing scenery our country has to offer. Bistro Celerio is like sitting in an old barn yet filled with the owners collectibles of artworks and bric a brac that they have collected from all over the world for many years. The host Julio and his assistant do a marvelous job in making everyone very welcome and at home. The fabulous atmosphere and ambiance is very hard to absorb and take in whilst still forcing yourself to come back to reality and decide what to eat let alone take a sip of your wine which by the way you need to bring along as they are not licenced. The food whilst beautifully served mostly on hand made ceramic dishes is certainly not in the class of fine dining foods but it is delicous old farm style farm cooked meals which change weekly. We had a choice of venison shank and Greek lamb stew. All most enjoyable. Desserts seemd to be mainly a choice of a variety of home made ice creams with interesting flavours like licorice, coffee and coeksister etc. All quite delicious. Hats off to 5 star hosting and a most unique experience.
