Best part of this place is the booze and if yr lucky a view. We stopped in on a Sunday for afternoon cocktails. The live music was too loud. They had a non-smoking kids section which was okay but kids are not monitored by their parents so behave badly. We ordered the mussels— WORST MUSSELS EVER! For 70 rand we got 8 tiny dried out mussels in a super gross pasty flour sauce- that was supposed to be a garlic wine sauce. Highly disappointing place. Won’t be coming back.

I have previously written a poor reveiw of the " Old Hops" and so have been reticent to visit the New Hops. Well i did and i found that there has been a complete transition of the Hops and I enjoyed the experience. The service was wonderful, the menu interesting and well priced and the curry was superb. I can't wait to go on Thursday when men get 40% off meals and only pay R 25 for a draft beer. Good luck to the owner and management of the new Hops.

Outstanding setting, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, delicious tasty food!! Just thought helping of Hake, calamari & veg for R128.00 could have been more generous. we had to buy our son a wrap to satisfy him.

We ate her two days ago , the service was quite efficient but not particularly friendly the mal arrived quite quickly , my wife’s grilled fish was over cooked and dry ( really should have sent it back ) my salad was good enough but the mozzarella sticks were cold ( they should have gone back too) malva pudding was without doubt the worst I’ve had in South Africa ( pale in colour and absolutely tasteless - I’ve ordered it almost every restaurant we’ food ve been too between Johannesburg and Cape Town ) .In short this is probably ok for drinks as the location is very nice they also had live music , but the food was a disappointment as we had been recommended we have got another week in Ballito and won’t be going back anytime soon.
