A 5* awesome experience, Thank you Imbali, Eddie and staff, you guys exceeded our expectations, a wonderful getaway into the bush, peaceful, quiet, surrounded by nature. A gem of a place. The room was perfect, spacious and clean with all the bits and bobs. The sunrise and sunset drives were amazing, thank you Eddie. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would recommend to anyone.

This was the first time my husband and I stayed at the concession lodge in the park. Overall experince was good with some areas standing out and some not so.
Standing out was definitely the game drives. We had an exceptional guide Wesley. He brought us close to the viewing sites and always cared for his guests. General staff were personal and very accommodating. They knew us by name and that made it special.
Views from the reception are excellent. Our room was below huge trees where baboons rested for the night. Although loud with all sorts of sounds and bickering, they created an overall bush experience. The rooms were tastefully done and private plunge pool at the decking welcome.
A couple of suggested points of improvement; on our first evening after the boma meal going back to the reception for a night cap, we almost had to walk into the kitchen to seek assistance with drinks, we also had to seek assistance with someone getting us back to the room. It seemed there was no one around.
On the first morning of the game drive, breakfast from chaffing dishes was cold. After being cold from the morning game drive and looking forward to a hot breakfast, it very disappointing. We understand there was a problem with some staff not getting in due to protests at the gate but that should not be passed over to guests.
Other than that, it would have been 5.

Spent 4 days here over New Years eve 2017-2018. I had a really hard time narrowing down the perfect safari lodge but I'm glad I chose this resort (my other choice was Hamilton Tented Camp).

We drove to the lodge in our rental car and spotted so many animals (waiting for elephants to cross the road is unbelievable!). There were signs directing us to Imbali Safari Lodge as phone/GPS is a bit unreliable in this corner of the world.

From our initial greeting EVERY staff member we encountered were WONDERFUL. The lodge is beautiful and our room was spectacular overlooking the dry river bed. Our suite was spacious, clean and modern and the sundeck with our private plunge pool was the cherry on top!

The main lodge has indoor/outdoor dining area as well as larger pool.

I debated long and hard on how to long to stay at a safari lodge. We are animal lovers (the kind of people who facetime their dogs when we are away) but I must admit 3 nights/4 days was perfect for us (6 game drives). There are two game drives (one at 5:30am and another at 5:30pm) and they run about 3 hours. We attended both AM and PM drives and our guide was very knowledgeable and we got to see all the animals on our checklist (elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, rhinos, lions and a leopard). They truly get you up close and personal with these animals which at times put me a little bit on edge. However, our guide (Randy) always seemed in control and had our safety and comfort in mind. I was appreciative that he was quick to call out some other guests on their behaviour that was against the rules (some characters on one of our drives started cat calling a group of lions!). This is not a zoo people!

Each game drive consisted of a break where we offered coffee and a SA liqueur in the morning as well a "sundowner" on the PM drive. It was really special to sip a drink in the middle of Kruger Park with animals walking by. It was everything and more that I imagined of a safari.

Upon return from your game drives a breakfast buffet awaits in the indoor/outdoor restaurant. In the evening we would return to dinner and the lodge lit up creating such a unique ambiance. Make sure you arrive to the morning game drive early (around 5am) as they have coffee and pastries available to you (being a caffeine addict this was much appreciated!). I should note that meals are very casual here I had outfits on hand to change from safari to dinner but ended up not needing them. I was surprised by the temperature change even in the African summer. I recommend layers (tshirt with sweater in the morning) and something more airy for the afternoon. I wore runners during the game drive but saw some ladies with sandals.

All the meals are included with your stay and we enjoyed every meal. My husband is a big meat eater and enjoyed the unique selection of meat available and also enjoyed the fish entrees. Being vegetarian, there is a vegetarian option that changed daily for each meal and everything was outstanding and well thought out.

When your not on the game drive we enjoyed the quietness of the lodge and retreated to naps and enjoying time on our sundeck and in our infinity pool. Our deck received direct sunlight all afternoon but the pool was very fresh. We brought some alcohol to enjoy for our suite. There is truly no wifi at this resort (only in the lobby) and is very slow (slow as in to send a text message via Whatsapp or Imessage takes a few minutes). Wasn't a big deal to us and I can't remember the last time I was without phone service/internet for a few days. I welcomed the silence! The only thing that was disappointing is that we were there over New Years Eve. Even during dinner there was not a mention of New Years. We didn't expect some crazy DJ to arrive but even with the quiet ambiance ANY activity or a countdown/champagne at midnight would of been a nice touch. By 11pm there were only 2 other couples hanging out in the lobby (I say the general demographic here is late 40s +). My husband and I are in our early 30s and met only 2 other couples around our age group during our stay. Coincidentally they were the ones hanging out in the lobby with us. We ordered a few bottles of champagne and wine and that was it. You need to be escorted back to your suite at night so we went back to our rooms shortly after midnight (staff can't leave until all guests are back in their rooms).

All in all it was unforgettable and shall we return to Africa one day we would be back. I would recommend Imbali Safari Lodge to anyone!

We spend 4 days with our family in this beautiful lodge in the Kruger. Everything was superb. We felt at home the minute we arrived. Rooms were great, lovely little spa pool outside the deck, luxury room with nice amnesties. The service of the staff were top notch and entertaining- so friendly and funny, they were a pleasure to chat with. Extremely willing and helpful. Special mention to Cindy who went the extra mile to please all of us, Colbert for his good service and sense of humour, Mary who was always smiling and friendly, Terrence who entertained us with stories and also served us well. Food was delicious - compliments to the chef. Thanks Moses and Ben for accommodating our special needs. Last but not least, Eddie our game ranger! Thanks so much Eddie for such a memorable 4 days with you. You made it special and took great care of us. As we were a family of 6 we were lucky enough to be alone, so it felft like a private game drive. Every morning we would tell Eddie what we wanted to see for the day and he delivered! From the roaring lion to the leopard on the tree with a kill to the elephant that surprised us on our coffee break. It was an exciting, scary moment, but Eddie handled it very well as the elephant obeyed him. Thanks so much Imbali lodge for an unforgettable 4 days with you.

Excellent stay at the lodge, great food and accommodation, first class guide. Unfortunately no Leopards for our group but wild dogs and hyenas fighting plus 13 Lions all on one day so who needs a Leopard
