We had a fantastic time staying at Acara. We are a family of four (2 children aged 5 & 3), and stayed for ten days in the Lavender Cottage, which was perfectly set up for us, being all on one level.
Fiona is a welcoming and thoughtful host, having contacted us in advance to book us in at a couple of the more popular restaurants in the area, and was a good source of tips and information about the surrounding tourist attractions.
The house itself has gorgeous gardens, and the children were free to explore and run around as much as they pleased, and having several horses stabled at the property also made for good entertainment. The two dogs are friendly and well trained, and our kids were very sad to say goodbye to them when we left.
We had planned to relocate into Stellenbosch itself after five days, but we were so content in our surroundings that we asked if we could stay longer at Acara instead.
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely try and go back in the future.
