When attending a wedding in Stellenbosch recently, Moores End ticked all the boxes. And over delivered on some, especially value for money.
Our self catering unit was perfectly equipped with everything you could think of, it had a beautiful view of the mountains and the family of Rodesian Ridgebacks were always there to greet us on return.
Recommend unreservedly.

We stayed here a year back, it was absolutely amazing! The views alone were incredible - waking up to that view every morning was just the best. Very close to everything around Stellenbosch. The apartment alone was in amazing condition and clean.

Moores End has more than one vacation rental suite but we chose the one with the fabulous view of the mountains. The suite was very modern and spacious with a wall of glass opening onto a deck exposing the tremendous view. Sibs, our hostess is extremely gracious and mades sure that we lacked nothing. The location is also excellent for winery touring. It is located right between Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Paarl allowing easy access to dozens of good wineries. It is also just down the road from one of the best restaurants in the area at Tokara Winery. On top of all this, the price of Moores End's rooms are half of anything that could be considered comparable. Very highly recommended.

Room Tip: The one across the parking area from the main house and nearest to it has a stunning view.

Moores End is a combination of several self catering cottages as well as rooms within the main house up in the mountains of Stellenbosch. My 2 married children and their spouses stayed in one cottage which had ensuite bathrooms for each of the 2 bedrooms as well as a large area for cooking, eating, and other activities that we enjoy as a family. I stayed in the Nest which is a small cottage up above the others and having a spectacular view of the mountains as well as the Moore's beautiful and well-kept gardens, including protea, of which both our rooms had a beautiful bouquet waiting when we arrived. It was a great central location for our day trips to Cape Point, Hermanus, the Waterfront in Cape Town, Boulder Bay, Somerset West, and the little historic towns of Stellenbosch and Franschoek. Sibs and Basil are the perfect hosts, more gracious hosts you cannot find. We stayed for 7 nights and it was cheap, as has been mentioned in other reviews. It was comfortable and private, a great retreat after our busy days of sightseeing

Hi,
We stayed 2 nights at Moores end, and enjoyed our time their immensely.
Sibs Moore corresponded well with me, prior to our stay, and she greeted us like long lost friends. Most appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble for Sibs, She helped us with another booking at our next point of call, that went wrong.
We stayed in Mulberry cottage, which is very private, quiet, and has magnifient views. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, and all we had to do is ask Sibs, and she would give us additional items such as tobasco sauce, black pepper, egg cups etc. The cottage is beautifully decorated, has top rate bedding , towels etc. The outside patio is large, and has an outside dining setting and lounge chairs.
The position of Moores end is excellent. Inbetween Stellenbosh and Franschoek, along the Hellsgoogte Pass. This Pass has spectacular scenery and there are lots of wineries in the area. Franschoek is a very pretty town, lots of eateries, gift shops etc and well worth spending an afternoon there.
WE have no hesitation in recommending Moores End for anyone staying in the Stellenbosch area. The cost of the beautiful self catering apartments are very reasonable, (for us Aussies, I would say cheap) The tennis court and Pool an added bonus.
Many Thanks Sibs, her husband and staff for making our stay , one we will fondly remember.
Russell

Room Tip: For the little bit extra, Mulberry Cottage is excellent value. The cottages closer to the road may be a bit noisy
