I don’t know, how you others think this, but my opinion is that if one is in accommodation business, he/she has two duties to fill. The first one is to provide place to sleep and the other one is decent place to wash up. Everything else comes after these two. The first one was clean and it served its mission, but the latter was poor. To begin with COLD SHOWER! It doesn’t belong to accommodation business. EVER! Even if we speak budget room! No! That’s it! Secondly, it doesn’t take much to put a door to bathroom.

Generally speaking the hotel was nice and he location on the beach is amazing. Only the traffic noise sometimes bothered, but it wasn’t big thing. Staff was very nice and helpful. Location is also very close to German bakery which provides amazing breakfast with reasonable rates.

Hi Jenni.Thank you for your review. As you state it is a matter of opinion as to whether accommodation should or should not have cold shower. Many accommodation places in the tropics that offer budget accommodation do. We also have cottages with hot water and A/C so you had the choice to upgrade. In some of our budget cottages only there is no door to bathroom but a curtain as they are older buildings with small bathroom where door would not fit and curtain was best solution.

Excellent value for money, friendly staff, very clean (rooms were cleaned daily, even when not occupied!) on a fine spot along the coast (nice sea views from most cottages) and yet in the center of Candi Dasa, close to restaurants, convenience stores, etc. We would recommend this place!

Room Tip: Seaside cottages have great views, but are priced a bit higher.

I stayed there for a couple of nights with my father and we were amazed by the hospitality and good service provided by the staff. They have different room prices and we stayed in the cheapest one, which was the only one with twin bed, and it was comfy and clean, no luxuries of course. They have decent wifi, nice terrace by the sea, longbeds, sunsets, garden... the bathroom is small but much decent than many homestays with similar prices in Bali. The staff were the best of it, so polite and helpful... they made sure we were having a good time and they tried to solve our questions quickly and professionally.

We stayed for one night in the budget room for 190k. First of all they tried to charge us peak season rates but upon our refusal they realised they made a mistake.
It's cheap and good value. Breakfast is not included in the room rates. The sheets were stained but seemed clean, and the fan kept us cool enough during the day and night. We had not booked a second day but needed to stay another night, our room was booked and so we had to transfer to a room for 300k which offered hot water and air con. The air con was cold and worked well, but on reflection the extra money was not worth the difference in rooms for us.

We really liked being by the sea and enjoyed spending the evening on the sun loungers watching the ocean. The beach at the end of the accommodation is rocky, but the one to the left of the groyne is sandy.

I would not describe the staff as the most helpful, like what you get in a homestay. Not willing to offer other restaurant locations or quick to provide help on activities. We ordered a scooter to rent and when the morning came it was not there so we sorted ourselves in the end.

Thank you for your review. Yes my staff accidently picked up wrong price list and apologised as soon as they realized. Our budget cottages were already booked the next day it was your choice to upgrade. I am sorry it didn't meet your requirements. Our sheets are clean but some in budget cottages look blotchy from stain removers. Cheers Shirley

Temple cafe and seaside cottages

We had a standard cottage and it was lovely, better than it looked in the photos. Big, comfortable bed with good, clean linen and towels. Two bedside cabinets, one bedside light, table with a mirror and rail with hangers for clothes. Sockets beside bed for charging. Cold water bathroom was large and clean. Big window at front and small at side, so room was clean and bright, with light walls and white tiles floor. Porch had a table, two comfy chairs and a drying rack. The garden was beautiful and well looked after and you can see the sea from the terrace. There were lounges and tables by the sea, the view was beautiful but no beach. You could go in the sea but it's stony.
Staff friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned everyday.
Larger cottages looked amazing with kitchens and we're right next to the sea.
