The Krista Hotel is an absolute gem. I would normally stay with a chain hotel when I go away as you know what to expect. This time I opted to go for a boutique based on all the great reviews. I must say it was definitely the right way to go!

We arrived at around 9am and after a lovely expresso we were offered on arrival we were allowed to check-in early … from that moment on and until our checkout everything was perfect.

The location of the Krista is great, located in a great buzzing neighborhood. Although its worth noting that things don’t start until a little later here, so at first glance it can appear as though the area is very quiet but I assure you, when it hits 10pm … the awesome restaurants and bars get packed for a true BA experience!

I had room 10 for 5 nights, which was fairly simple, but all the necessary bits for what you pay for. The room was always clean and they provide a turn down service consistently throughout the stay. No matter how many times I was in and out of my room, it was always clean! Great feeling to come into a clean room any time of the day (unlike my room at home…ahem)!

Overall, what really won me over was the hospitality from the staff. They really do go over and beyond to cater for you and it makes a huge difference to the comfort of your stay.

A few minor points worth mentioning:

- WIFI all over the hotel – really handy
- Breakfast is just OK but they will accommodate you whenever you want it if you ask, so no real cut off time. Great, if you have had a late night.
- General prices for extras are very good …. Laundry, drinks etc etc

Hope the review is helpful for travelers, and a BIG thanks to the staff at Krista.

P

Room Tip: I had room 10 and no complaints at all, a window too.

Just in case any of you world travelers venture over to Buenos Aires, please be sure to check out theis amazing hotel, The Krista, we visited 2 wks. ago...My son resides in the area, until June, and it was a family visit, as well as mucho pleasure...This charming little, Hotel (10 rms), was a real find, in the SoHo, trendy, chic area of Palermo, Hollywood...Great rest., cafes, Tango dancing facilities, and easy access to get around made this a real winner.....Taxis are cheap and abundant....We used train, (D), stope conveniently located, within walking distance, and buses galore...Easy to get downtown, to Buenos Aires, via the D line, about 35 min....EASY! No problem! Krista upgraded us upon arrival, since our reg. rm.,was not ready, @ 11 a.m...Very helpful, English speaking personnel went out of their way to accommodate us....Our rm. #8, "Borges", was on the first fl., rear, and faced a quaint, beautiful garden/patio area.....Very romantic ambience.....Staiined glass, tile, floors, carved drk wood, and Spanish influence, made this a unique boutique establishment....Superb breakfasts were served in cozy dining rm- offering eggs, cereals, fresh fruit, juices, coffee, tea, sweet table, medalunas (like french croissants, and tasty jams, honey.....Note, this house was formerly owned by the private doctor of Eva Peron, and was turned into this boutique Hotel about 6 yrs. ago....A must stay if your travels take you to BA., districts....Suggested for couples, singles.....Not ideal for families w/ small children., as it is not geared for that type of guest....

Room Tip: Definitely, ask for rms., in the rear of hotel, 1st floor...

I cannot say enough about the staff of this hotel - from the moment we entered this hotel late on a Tuesday night we were treated like royalty. Without exception they were warm, helpful and professional. We have stayed in many hotels in many countries and we cannot recall warmer or more helpful staff.

The rooms are quaint, comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable rate and was first class.

We recommend this hotel unreservedly.

Krista is a great little hotel in Palermo Hollywood surrounded by bars and some great restaurants. It is only 5-10 mins walk from Palermo viejo and the same distance to the nearest D line subway station. Our room was stylish and comfortable with a nice clean bathroom. Highlight was the breakfast which was comprehensive and set us up perfectly for wandering the streets of BA!

The staff were all very helpful and the whole atmosphere was very peaceful which is impressive as the hotel is not far away from several bars and clubs.

Just round the corner is a great restaurant called Dominga. Best sushi I have ever eaten! You can walk to recoleta but taxis are so cheap and pass by the hotel ll the time (we never waited more than a minute for a taxi)

Worth a visit!

We were on a "high end" trip through Patagonia with additional stops in Buenos Aires, Iguacu Falls and Rio. We stayed at nine different hotels and this was by far the worst. Some might see it as a quaint old mansion converted to a boutique hotel. We saw it as a very overpriced, thin walled old building with leaking roofs and limited hotel facilities. Many of the staff were very nice and helpful. Some were clearly lazy. There was a dirty jacuzzi in an exterior courtyard but the courtyard got directly sun and no breeze so was too hot to be enjoyed during the day. There were no exterior windows in our room, just a window to the hallway which only decreased our privacy. I have never stayed in a $250+ a night hotel with no exterior windows! We felt like we were in jail. The ceilings in the hallways leaked badly when it rained out. The location was in Palermo a "hot, in, neighborhood" but it was a ten block walk across the railroad tracks to get to the nice parts of Palermo and a similar distance to the nearest metro. It was a 20-30 minute cab ride to the parts of town that are of touristic interest. Cabs are cheap in Buenos Aires but the traffic is horrendous making the cab rides painful. You can find a much nicer hotel in Buenos Aires for the same or less money. DO NOT stay at the Krista.

Room Tip: If you must stay here ask for a room with a window onto the courtyard, the only ones with exterior windows.

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding our hotel.

I would like to apologize on behalf of the hotel and its team for not exceeding your expectations. I know our team works hard trying to make our guest´s stay a pleasant one, and I am sorry to hear that it was sensed in a different way.

Regarding the price, we would like to inform that our rate for the Superior Room category where you stayed is u$s 170 + tax; as you came through an agency, maybe the price you mentioned included some other services they provided.

This room has a window that looks into one of our courtyards, and this patio has a sliding ceiling that allows the air inlet from the exterior. It`s a pity that you hadn´t told us you didn´t feel comfortable in that room as if we had known it, we would have tried to move you to other room of your pleasure.

Concerning the Jacuzzi, it is located outside, in our garden. During rainy and windy days, it is normal to see some leaves of the trees and plants that embellish the sundeck and whirpool area, otherwise it is kept clean daily.

With reference to your comment about the location, we are very close to some important and touristic areas, like Palermo Viejo, Palermo Soho and Hollywood, one of the most exclusive and trendiest neighborhoods in BA. This location is surrounded by restaurants, bars and fashion boutiques within walking distance. It is a safe and crowded area with a significant night life. Also we are very near of the green area in BA like the Botanical Garden, the Japanese Garden, Palermo Parks and Lakes.

Once again please do accept my apologies and thank you again for your feedback.

Kindest regards,

Cristina Marsden
Manager
