The Hotel is located on a Main Street close to the Center.
It is within walking distance to a lot of things.
The rooms are good size and the beds are comfortable.
Depending on where your room is, there is not much of a view.
The included breakfast could be vastly improved, and did not look very appetizing.
We stayed mainly with toast with juice and coffee.
The scrambled eggs, if there were any looked disgusting.
The staff was friendly and very helpful.
We had a problem leaving the Hotel because of a huge political demonstration on that Street. There are some Government Buildings not far away.
One of the staff with some say, thought it would not be safe for us to go out through the crowd with our luggage to find a taxi. He got 2 other employees and got our big suitcases and escorted and helped us find a taxi, which was not so easy.
A big Thank You for that.

Room Tip: our room faced a side street and was actually relatively quiet.

Dear Cruiser_d_r
We appreciate having chosen Tango de Mayo Hotel for your stay in the city.
We regret enormously what happened with the demonstrations, it is a situation that escapes the hotel, but we are very happy that our services have satisfied them.

Regarding the breakfast service, we appreciate you have given us your comment to improve, we regret you have not been able to enjoy it.

Best Regards

We stayed in this hotel for 5 days prior to our cruise to Santiago. It turned out to be the perfect choice in an ideal location and within walking distance of a lot of the major and important sights. Prior to our arrival we emailed the hotel requesting a quiet room and had an immediate and positive reply. On arrival we were very happy with our 'Tango' themed room as it was at the rear of the hotel with minimal street noise. We found that all the reception staff were really friendly and helpful and they all spoke very good English. When a mini bus failed to turn up on an evening outing to a Tango show, the receptionist went out of his way to contact the venue and even managed to bully them in to sending a (free) taxi. We found the breakfast to be adequate; perhaps a little more fruit would help as it seemed to be quickly gobbled up. Due to our many evening activities and shows we never had an evening meal although the limited menu looked good and reasonably priced. A bonus was the roof terrace where one could relax with a cocktail after pounding the streets. In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Tango de Mayo and would certainly use this hotel again in the future. Thank you everyone.

Room Tip: Email your requirements in advance

Stayed three night at Tango de Mayo and it is a nice hotel.
The rooms are of good size and very clean. Comfortable bed and great shower. Breakfast is limited and service not so well, a lot of dirty tables and often empty buffet, but you can also book without.
The hotel has a very nice rooftop terrace! Great place to relax after a long day in the city.
Hotel has a convenient location between the political area and the old centre with several subway stations nearby.

We stayed at TDM for five nights last week and highly recommend it. The 1913 Art Nouveau building's location is convenient to many of the important sights and is in the midst of a very historic part of the city (Palacio Barolo is right next door, Guerrin Pizza is a 10-minute walk away, and Cafe Tortoni is a few blocks down the street). The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly, especially Marina and Agustin (Coco). Our room was a large, beautiful suite on the third floor. The traffic was very noisy but the accommodations made up for it. Don't miss the happy hour in the rooftop bar - great views of the neighborhood.

Room Tip: If traffic noise bothers you, ask for a room on a higher floor and off of the main street

The hotel is located very close to avenue 9 July, so many tourist sightseeing’s are within walking distance, such as plaza mayo and palace Rosada. We booked Tango Porteño and can walk there within 15 mins.
