We stayed two nights, one at the beginning of our tour of the lakes district and one at the end. The hotel is a way out of town so its quiet and the views are splendid. The owner, who had just become a very proud Dad, was really lovely. He even changed some money for us at a very good rate. He explained that the hotel is family run and they take so much care of their guests they deserve to be number one on TA.
All the staff are wonderful. From the hot chocolate on arrival, room upgrade if they can to the high standards of cleanliness in the rooms. They can not be faulted. We have stayed in many five star hotels around the world and this little hotel is up there with the best.
The breakfast!!! How they manage to put on such an amazing choice considering the value of the rooms was beyond us. It is like a Tapas restaurant. The choice is fantastic with cheese, meats, little smoked salmon blini, quiches, breads, cakes ........ it just went on and on. And they offer you the most delicious hot specials as well. They are constantly replenishing so no one misses out. It was the best breakfast we have ever had!
On the way back from Chile, over the mountains, we got stuck in a sudden unseasonal snow storm. We were worried we would not make it back to Peninsula Petite for that breakfast the next day. Luckily we were dug out by snow ploughs and by the time we got to Bariloche the sun was out and the mountains covered in snow.
