After a long day of travel we were looking to having an enjoyable stay at the Sangay. Firstly, the restaurant was great. The location was great. The price was good too. However:

1. The rooms were extremely dated. TVs from the 80's which did not work at all. Old warped beds.

2. Extremely noisy all night with the hot pool traffic next door.

3. The door handles were barely attached to the front door leaving us with a very uncomfortable feeling.

There are much better options in Banos.

Dear Mr/Ms Deewee

Thank you for your positive comments as they encourage us to keep going in this family owned business and become the best place where guests can be happy to return and feel they have made their best choice. We also appreciate the negative comments, because they are an opportunity to improve as they give us all the key information we need to do so. We are the owners and now personally in charge of the Hotel, so we will certainly take into consideration your comments.

We have our Chef who is very energetic and professional and has worked hard on the Food & Beverage department so we can definitely improve our standards and have every guest leave satisfied and return promptly.

Thanks again for your time and valuable information.

Kind Regards,

Sasha Warmington

We enjoyed our stay at Sangay, especially our balcony with a view of the waterfall and baths. The staff was very friendly and helpful and went our of their way to help us when we found ourselves in the middle of a mix up between our driver and our travel agent. The restaurant staff was very accommodating and friendly as well.

Our room was clean and had what we needed and breakfast was one of the better ones we had during our trip.

This is a motel style hotel with decent modern rooms and reasonable facilities. The rooms are of good standard with refrigerator, good available space and a small balcony allowing excellent views of Banos and its large hills. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location within walking distance to the city centre of Banos restaurants, bars, shops and hiking destinations around town. Yet it is far enough out of the city to avoid most tourist night noise. There is a basic spa type facility in the hotel with helpful staff.

Room Tip: upstairs rooms are better

Hotel is directly across the street from the thermal pools waters that come from a local volcano, Tumburagua, the main attraction.

Hotel is relatively new and decoration and furniture is of good taste and not overly furnished at all. Rooms are spacious and offer a good relaxing environment.

Nonetheless, because it's across the main attraction, busses and cars blow their horn quite regularly and in the early hours. Not something the hotel is to blame for. Although our decision to stay one night at banos was unexpected, we enjoyed it. We checked in at 12:30AM and requested a late check out.

I would overall defiantly stay here again

Stayed at the Hotel March 2017- Great location- Great view. You can walk to the center of town and have dinner. Receptionist were great and helped us with booking a tour- Which was only $11 for whole day (must do). The recommendation, stay away from the rooms by the street as there are a lot of noise from the street.
