Stopped in for lunch while on a business trip. There are not many options in town. I had the Hualapai Melt on fry bread, just what my diet doesn't need. It was good. A little greasy...ok, a lot greasy, but good flavor. The fry bread is a favorite of mine also so that added to the flavor. Service was slow paced and the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Probably won't go wrong here. The only other choice is to drive to Seligman.

This restaurant is based inside The Hualapei Lodge Hotel in Peach Springs, literally in the middle of nowhere on Route 66 and nowhere near the Grand Canyon. We were staying at this hotel for a week and tried to make the most of it. You can actually access Diamond Creek wifi which is better than the Hualapei Lodge wifi which is horrendous. The food in the restaurant was very good, however when and if you managed to obtain any. It was great that breakfast was included in our stay, as you could get a wide variety of options, cereal, toast, pastries etc. I did not like the fact that the granola was not covered however, and there were flies in the restaurant. Sometimes the orange juice machine was also out of order. You could upgrade to a hot breakfast for an extra $5 however this was dependent on what they had left after the tour groups had eaten. They had a breakfast menu, however so many options were not available if a tour group had eaten before you got there. If you arrived for breakfast at 6.30am you might get more of a hot variety, however it is usually crammed then with a tour group as the rafting tours tend to leave early. In the evening as there is literally nothing around for miles, the restaurant is also crammed. Some people had to wait ages for their food. I did enjoy a Hualapei stew and taco, and the pie is great too. However one evening, the pepper on the table was not screwed on, so like a comedy sketch it went all over my dinner...The waitress was nice however and gave a discount due to what happened. Again in the evenings a few of the options were not available. The waitress said that they 'had none left' however I was unsure at times whether it was just a no as they were so busy. There were clearly not enough staff working at peak times. A few nights a week we actually drove about 10 miles down the road to The Grand Canyon Caverns Inn. It closes at 8pm and the food there is absolutely amazing and they always have plenty of space. I do recommend eating at Diamond Creek at least once or twice for evening meal if you are nearby, as the Hualapei Fried Bread is amazing, as well as the homemade pie. The Hualapei Taco was so big that I simply could not eat it all! It is very reasonably priced actually.

As there is very little else in the vicinity we had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The evening meals were adequate if a little bland. Table service was good but the waitress was let down by the kitchen who were extremely slow and it took a long time for our meals to be served. Unfortunately as we were a large group not everyone got their food at the same time and it appeared that the kitchen was overwhelmed with the order. The complementary breakfast was good and there was a fair choice and variety - if you wanted a hot breakfast this was an additional charge.

Perfect stop on 66. The stew and flat taco are excellent. Great taste of local cuisine. Onion rings and honey dipped fried chicken really good as well. Outstanding service!

Also reviewed as Hualapai Lodge Restaurant. When you stay at the Lodge, you get a coupon for a free continental breakfast, but can upgrade to a hot breakfast. The service was good and the food was, too.

The evening meal was tasty as well.
