This was first stop of our West Rim Grand Canyon Tour. Website indicated or suggested an interactive experience. Nothing more than hokey tourist trap. Expected a cultural emersion into the Haulapai Indian Tribe... nothing more than cheap restaurant and poorly constructed western themed "set". Stay on shuttle until next stop.

Part of the Grand Canyon west rim package. Cute place to have lunch. The ranch looks like an "old west" town. The restaurant was organized and the workers were pleasant and welcoming. There was a choice of baked chicken or BBQ ribs. I got the ribs and they were super delicious! We had our lunch at about 3:30 so it wasn't crowded. Awesome place!

We visited Grand canyon West specifically to experience the skywalk. We stayed overnight at a cabin. Reception staff there were very helpful because my wife was not able to walk too far and we were reallocated. The cabin was small and basic. No Fridge, no microwave no ice, wifi did not work (despite extensive attempts by the staff, and the router was in our cabin!). The lodges (26 of them) are located in the 'western town' which is very tacky. No one told us that not only is there no alcohol served in the 'saloon' but guards at the gate prevent people bringing it in. The so called saloon sells root beer but you cant drink it inside you buy it through a window and drink it on the patio. And they had run out anyway. The restaurant had about three standard dinners which were served from a hatch. Similar for breakfast. The food was average. The good side was that when we arrived in the afternoon the skywalk main attraction was packed and it was hot so we left that part to the next morning. This meant that the bus trips from Las Vegas had not yet arrived and the skywalk was almost empty.
With such potentiality, the operators are not making the most of the attractiveness.

I took my grandson to the glass Skywalk and stayed 2 nights at the Hualapai Ranch.
I'd requested a cabin close to everything since I'm a senior citizen and have walking issues. When I arrived, my close up cabin had been given to the people on the tour bus.
When talking with reservations, more than once I asked about my grandson riding horses and when he could buy a ticket. When we arrived, he went (alone) to buy his ticket and was told to come back the next day when he wanted to ride. Again the next day he asked to buy a ticket. They told him to come back 30 minutes later. When he returned, he was told that he could not ride the horses without a parent going with him. (he is age 12 and only he and I were traveling together) NO one said this to me at any time before. I can't understand why not. He wanted to ride the mechanical bull that he'd ridden the day before. They suddenly said he could not ride that either without his parents or legal guardian's permission.
He asked to for archery which is advertised. Nope. Didn't have that either.
He asked for Quick Draw instruction. Nope. Didn't provide that either EVEN THOUGH THEY ADVERTISE ALL THIS!
Wagon rides are also advertised. Didn't see that happening.
Bottomline, I think this property exists for the chartered bus loads of Asian tourists that arrive every day and do not participate in the advertised activities. They only take pictures.
However, there was a bonfire in the evening and smores. That's all except expensive food.

Room Tip: Don't even bother. They reserve all the cabins for the non-English speaking people on the tour b...

We are sorry to read your visit to Hualapai Ranch did not live up to your expectations and your requested accommodations were not available upon check-in. Thank you for letting us know about the issues of your grandson not being able to ride a horse. We're not sure what happened during your visit, but will look into this. Sometimes weather can impact operations, so we're not sure if that was a factor during your visit. We apologize that you were disappointed with your stay at Hualapai Ranch. We take complaints like yours very seriously.

We stayed one night at the Hualapai Ranch, 5 adults and two boys ages 10 and 6. The cabins were basic but clean and relatively comfortable. The boys absolutely loved the " ranch" environment. There are Lasso lessons and kids over age 9 can try to ride the bucking bronco. By staying there, we were able to get the 8 am shuttle to the Skywalk and do that while it was not crowded and before it got too hot. I've seen some negative reviews of the Ranch and suggest you do a bit of research including reading the positive reviews as it is not for everyone, if you have young kids, this is a perfect choice. The dinner was a choice of baked chicken or pork ribs served with a corn muffin and a cookie. There was also a choice of mashed potatoes, beans or macaroni salad for a side. There was a vegetarian option. There is NO alcohol allowed on the ranch so keep, that in mind. There was complimentary bottled water in our room and unlimited soft drinks. Breakfast is a couple of simple choices. In the evening there is a campfire with cowboys to tell a tale and sing songs. You can also roast marshmallows and make s'mores. The staff was friendly and efficient and the gift shop has a selection of reasonably priced items. At night there is dark and the stars literally pop out to greet you. Each cabin has a porch to sit and enjoy the quiet. There are some extras of horseback riding and wagon ride that we did not have time to try.
