“A good place to stay in Scottsdale”
Reviewed 14 March 2012

The Gainey Suites is a very nice property. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished, as are the common areas. There were private events on the patio and courtyard on Saturday evening and Sunday morning that did not allow hotel guests to take advantage of this lovely outdoor space. The other disappointment was that the fitness center was fully occupied every morning before 6am. I hope GS considers a larger space and more equipment.
The breakfasts and receiption hours exceeded expectations-- offerings were definitely better than at comparable facilities.

Room Tip: The outside rooms face parking lots-- not much of a view, but noise was not a factor.

I stayed here for a week during my pilgrimage to Spring Training. The hotel was very tranquil and quiet, which is what I needed after long days of going to ball parks. Loved the full service breakfast and evening reception. My favorite spot was the open air patio looking toward the pool. Spent some time here reading and drinking a beer each day during the reception. While this trip was solo, I saw a number of families and would definitely come back with my family in tow in the future.

We stayed at the Gainey Suites for a wek in January and simply can't say enough good things about the experience. The room was great and the bed devine. The food was wonderful and the staff was exceptional.

Just returned from a wonderful long weekend at the Gainey Suites Hotel. It was so nice to have a large and comfortable suite as our home base as we soaked up the Scottsdale sun. The beds and the pillows - especially those pillows - were heavenly! The kitchenette in the suite was ideal for snacks, but with the complimentary breakfast and happy hour offerings, we didn't really need to snack.
If you are looking for a large scale hotel with several bars and restaurants, this is not it. But if you want a place to get away that is still convenient to shops and restaurants, you cannot beat the Gainey Suites.

We have stayed at the Gainey Suites several times and it is a great location in Scottsdale and the rooms are very nice. The beds are softer than what I prefer but the linens and towels are very nice. Something however has happened to this place and maybe it was the time of year but we have stayed here in Feb. and March before and had not encountered some of the issues. There seemed to be a large group of very elderly people staying at Gainey Suites this time and that is fine but it tended to give the traveler the feeling of staying in an assisted living facility. Some of the guests were very protective of “their table” and if others sat at the empty table, they were made to feel unwelcome. During the breakfast buffet, they would crowd many chairs around one table and thus making access to the free breakfast buffet line difficult. The hotel seemed to be very full, with large groups attempting to gather food from the free buffet and it was so bad, that we elected to go out for breakfast and pay for our food since it was such an unpleasant environment. So if you stay here because of the free breakfast buffet, just plan on nearly needing to fight for your food and then fight for a place to sit. I have stayed here at least six other times and I have never encountered such rude guests . The staff here are friendly and helpful and they do an excellent job with keeping the rooms clean.
