This specialized reptile zoo is incredible! The owner has invested over 20 years of his life studying reptiles of all kinds and built this place himself. You can view rare and beautiful snakes, lizards, turtles and crocodiles up close. You may even get lucky and get to help feed them. Quetzal (the owner) is an internationally renown herpetologist. He has studied reptiles his whole life and published articles on his research. He has a very unique captive breeding program for some rare and gorgeous snakes.

Did not expect much out of this parc....was I wrong. Tons of reptiles I've never seen before and must go on a Friday....it's snake feeding time!! Poor mice don't have a chance...impressive to see nature at its most primitive state.
A must if you are close to Dominical

I am not a reptile lover so for me to write this review says something. We arrive late on feeding day. It was pouring rain and I thought we would whip thru for my husbands sake. Well I quickly got really into the exhibit. The cages were really well done with natural things from each environment of each reptile. Some of the cages were huge. But most of all I was impressed by the staff. They were truly passionate about these reptiles and their welfare. They were extremely knowledgeable and hands on. We had a staff member with us for most of the visit and he would explain something about each of the reptiles. When it came time to feed two boas in a cage, they each grabbed on to the same mouse and the staff member was genuinely concerned because they could kill each other. He waited a few minutes to see what transpired and then decided to get in there and pry them apart. It got real dicey but once he got them apart and got them off his arm, he made sure they each saw there was a mouse for each of them. It was pretty incredible to see. I would highly recommend this exhibit for all.. reptile lover or not. I actually wanted to go back the next day lol.

This is as any other zoo, a place to see some cool reptiles up close and take pictures.

I got there during feeding time and that was interesting to see.

I liked it very much but is a bit sad to see those snakes in cages.

Gracias

Having seen a few reptile parks in the developing world, I wasn't expecting something so clean and well maintained.

There are over 80 species of reptile including many of those you might see in Central America. They are well cared for and have really good spaces to live.

The signage is very explanatory and interesting.

It's a little off the beaten track - but well worth a stop if you are close.
