It's a wonderful resort. The cabins with small porch are rustic but comfortable and very clean. And the views are so beautiful.
They offer several different excursions like mangrove, night buck tour or Corcovado National Park. All even in rainy weather are very interesting, well organized and you will enjoy good food prepared by staff. And the staff will clean not only your clothes but shoes too.
We have booked all inclusive and were so happy that we prolonged our stay.
Food was good and staff was excellent and friendly.

Room tip: We had a honeymoon cottage with a beautiful view. But you have to climb 54 steps. Other cottages are on the lower level

We were here over christmas and were lucky enough that the resort was not full. Our room was great, even had aircon which was unexpected! Although the toilet was not easy to flush and the shower water pressure could have been better, overall we were very happy. The site of the hotel is great, and the included trips we had (Sirena at Corcovado, snorkelling and mangrove tour) were such a highlight. The staff including tour guides all seemed genuinely friendly and enthusiastic, and made us feel really welcome.

The hotel is highly recommended.

The journey from Sierpe to the hotel by boat is an adventure in itself. The location on the verge give beutiful sunsets and rainy wheatherpatterns. The rooms are clean, the staff very nice and the proximity to nature can be counted in millimeters/inches.

We had booked "all inclusive" which is convenient as it is 40 min walking to other dining places in Drake Bay. The served delicious aftornoon snacks also kept you at the hotel. There are a number of very good tours that the hotel offer. Our favorite was with the one from Lonely Planet and TV known "the BUG LADY

Wic and Helen

Room tip: Closer to nature is hard to get

... because it had absolutely everything we wanted -- clean and charming rooms, really delightful people, excellent food, and super easy -- as in, right there! -- access to trails, kayaks, animals, sunsets, pool, hammocks -- even an adorable friendly young doggie named Rocco! It's even an adventure to GET to this place - and we loved that too! We really enjoyed the Isla de Cano snorkeling trip, which also included a picnic where we saw coati and macaws. The other outings were too long for us, but no matter -- we saw crocodiles, iguanas, basilisks, monkeys, macaws, toucans, curacaos, guans, either around the grounds or along an hour's out-n-back hike to Cocolito Beach and beyond into the bosque! The trail into "town" is another relatively easy 30-40 minute walk (each way) and features some great trees --the biggest bamboo plant we have ever seen. We plan to return to DBWR! Special thanks to Fred David y Consalo for taking such good care of John, and sending hugs to Marine and Ceny -- y gracias para las enrolladas de canela! And Marleny - espero que tu madre esta bien.

Drake Bay Wilderness Lodge is the original eco-lodge experience in Drake Bay. Family owned and operated, 3 home cooked meals a day plus afternoon appetizers ! Be sure and book Corcorvado tours through the Lodge as they have the best guides. Leave your car in Sierpe as the boat trip from Sierpe is an additional experience. A great base for wilderness and local hikes to lovely beaches.

Room tip: lodge rooms with bay views are the best. rooms are clean with clean baths and showers.
