It is a long ride out to Canyon Lake. We stopped along the way at Goldfield Ghost town.
The bathrooms were closed, only anbouthousecwas available before boarding the ship.
I waited in line to get our boarding passes while my family sat on the benches.
We chose to cruise on the bottom floor which stayed pretty empty except for all the travelers visiting the snack bar. I hear they make yummy popcorn.
The views of the canyon were lovely and I cenjoyed the gentle music that was played between the narration.
We saw turkey vultures and a couple big Horn sheep. Ask to borrow binoculars from the snack bar for a better view of the wildlife.
Next time it would be fun to go for a dinner cruise.

Canyon Lake is 8 miles into the National Forest on. Steep and winding road. Allow at least a half hour from Apache Junction. Once there you witness the wonders of nature and the ingenuity of man. The dams that create the lake(s) appear to have enhanced the wildlife in this spectacular setting. If you can’t cruise the Grand Canyon you defdinetly want to ride the Dolly. Crew is welcoming and knowledgeable. Book in advance.

With one exception, the trip was great. But they simply lied about their restaurant. Their web site shows a great-sounding restaurant at the ferry landing. This is false. There is no restaurant at all. They say one is being built but it is nowhere near ready. The ferry is way way out in the rugged desert, and we saw some hungry travelers waiting for the ferry who were irate. Since you have to wait around at least half an hour before boarding, the absence of any kind of food is inconvenient, but lying about it is outrageous.

I am not sure if you were on our actual website, but we do not own the restaurant and do not talk show pictures or talk about it on our website.

I am truly sorry that you feel that we lied to you about the restaurant at the marina. Our website does NOT talk about the restaurant at all other than a link that takes you to other area attractions. We are in no way affiliated with the restaurant other than being neighbors! Our understanding is that the restaurant, in the same building as the last, is supposed to reopen here on April 1st, but, just like the general public, that is all hearsay as we have not received official notification. We do have a link to all area attractions, which the restaurant is one of them, but we cannot control the content of their website. The links also take you to Tortilla Flat, which is just up the road from us and do have a full service restaurant available.
