Service was very pleasant. Fine dining $ with moderate 'casual ' surroundings. Tables were a little too close to have a personal convo though. We shared a meal and had 3 beers with water, meal was $80. Little disappointing with that. Had the meal been over the top $80 could have been more over looked. I'm certain the $$ are more due to area, right at Canyon entrance.

As is the case with most other reviews of this restaurant, we stopped by after visiting the Grand Canyon. We were seated quickly even though the place was very busy. Our waiter did a fair bit of rushing around from table to table but he was very polite and friendly when taking our order and anytime we asked for anything. He even kept us updated on the score of the baseball game being played that night once he figured out he and my husband were rooting on the same team (the cooks were listening to the game in the kitchen). Our food (steaks, ribs) was fine - not great, not bad. We tried the "Grand Canyon" beet on their menu... also fine. It was all good enough to leave feeling satisfied after a long day even if it wasn't the best food we ever had. Prices are a bit high but to be expected in a touristy area. Only think I would add is to pay attention to what you order/the bill, etc. My hubby had ordered a steak and shrimp combo and only the steak. When he asked about the shrimp, he was told what he ordered didn't come with shrimp, but when hubby double checked the menu - he confirmed he should have gotten shrimp - which he never did. And we still got charged full price for it. I didn't mind tip already being included in the check as we got pretty good service and would have tipped that much anyway. Just go in knowing the tip is included so you don't accidentally double tip. :-)

We had left the Grand Canyon and decided to eat before heading back to Williams. We drove up and down the main drag looking for a place, and we chose this one based on the name alone. Sounded fun! We weren't able to get an internet signal to check reviews. I would say we probably wouldn't have gone in if we had been able to read the reviews. But in that case we wouldn't have had as much fun either.

The atmosphere inside was cozy and warm, and the waiters were all decked out in cowboy gear. The decorations were fun too. The food seemed a little high priced, but expected in this tourist area. Some of the meals were served "family style" with shared sides. The cowboy beans came in a cute little pot. They had some interesting items on the menu, including fried rattlesnake. We ordered "ordinary" food, and it was okay, but my burger was a bit on the burnt side.

As others have said, the service was a bit abrupt and we didn't exactly feel welcomed, but we laughed about it and had fun with it. I do wish we had read the reviews about the added gratuity because I didn't even notice if that was done on our bill. We didn't even see the itemization. So if others are correct about that, I would advise you to check the bill carefully.

Despite having a bit of fun here, I don't think we would return if in the area again.

When you get out of the park, after a 3-day hike down the Grand Canyon, you are looking for one thing: good, comfort food. From the outside, Yippe-ei-o! is exactly what you are looking for: great steakhouse architecture, western look and all.

As soon as you get in though, it ends immediately. We could have turned around but we decided to give it a try. We were hungry, tired of dehydrated pasta... and we got trapped.

No music, zero ambiance, and an incredible desolation of smile-less faces. It started with the waiter throwing the menu at my wife!!! Also, we ended up taking the burgers, as the other items we simply overpriced. Really, just head for the Pizza Hut or Wendy's nearby. Comfort can wait until Flagstaff.

Oh yes! These guys are so used to complaints that they include a 15% gratuity on their bill!!!! Really, just run away from this place!!

.... when 15% gratuity is automatically added to the bill?

The waiter was actually looking elsewhere when he was talking to us, the salad and cornbread arrived before the starters, the mediocre and overpriced main corses arrived before we had finished our starters so basically don't bother.

It's only surviving because there is a lack of choice in Tusayan and they have a captive audience.

Will never go back or take any of our house guests there - but the owners and/or managers obviously don't care because they don't respond to any of the negative reviews.
