We booked this Grand Canyon Railway package and spent two nights at the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful and we took the train to the Grand Canyon. The package we bought included buffet meals the night we arrived and breakfast and dinner the next day. The buffet had pretty good choices including an omelette bar at breakfast and a pasta bar at night. At night, there was a gentleman performing live music during the meal. The room was nice and had a coffee maker. Beds were good.If you do book a room, I may suggest asking for a room closer to the front registration area as the room numbers grow quite large and can be quite a walk to get to. Overall, I was impressed with the hotel. Employees were very friendly. The trains were on schedule also. We just took this tour earlier this week, so since it was summertime there, it was very comfortable weather in the 70's during the day and low 50's at night. The Grand Canyon tour was also very nice weather, although a little windy.
I would recommend this tour if you want to see the Grand Canyon.

Room Tip: Rooms nearer the front registration are easier to get to.Rooms are quiet.

This is a great hotel. The front entrance was being worked on so we couldn't be dropped off front, had to park and go in. The front desk was very helpful and went over all the vouchers we would need for our package. The room was clean and comfortable. When we rechecked in the next day, after going to Grand Canyon, the front desk should have had two lines in the afternoon: one for people rechecking in and one for new check ins. It would make getting to your room a lot faster. One thing I loved about this hotel is that they have soap and shampoo dispensers in the rooms instead of bar soap and little bottles of shampoo and conditioners. It's a great idea!

We just stayed at the Grand Canyon railway hotel with our family of 5. My husband and I had stayed here about 8 years ago, and the updates to the property since then are tremendous! We stayed in a suite and it was perfectly equipped for 5 people. We also included the train ride to the canyon in our trip and it was great. Our 'psa' on the train, Becky, was very personable and really seemed to care about the guests on her car, as well as provided info about our trip.
When we arrived we took the 'grand tour' bus tour, which for our family of 5(ages 8-43) was a great disappointment. The canyon views never disappoint, but the buffet lunch at the maswik lodge was dismal at best. We would have much preferred either the 'freedom tour' or just navigated the area ourselves. There was only 30 minutes from bus departure to train boarding. This is NOT enough time to explore the village area around the canyon where the train dropped us off. If you don't want to walk at all, then the bus tour is a good option to simply sit and get out a little to see the canyon.

This place was better than the ones we are used to. I don't care for the restaurant across the street where they send guests who bought the whole package, but the actual hotel is great. I loved the Keurig coffee pot in the room.

There was a mixup with our luggage caused by an unusual set of circumstances, but the staff and everyone involved went above and beyond helping to solve the problem, and we did get our luggage eventually. I'd go there again.

We stayed here for two nights as part of package of the grand canyon, the rooms were very nice and clean, the internet was poor had to keep putting name and room number in to use internet. The railroad was a great way to get to canyon, you are a tourist so expect to tip a lot, the gal on train was a peach so nice and really made the whole trip so much more enjoyable Thanks Amber Rose. Took the bus when we arrived at canyon great way to see it. The food was buffet we got 2 dinners and 2 breakfast have to say the food was pretty good with good service. Enjoyed shops in town on route 66 get the taffy was so good. Enjoyed the winery. Would recommend the whole package.
