“Another Beautiful Church”
Review of Convento de Belen

Reviewed 1 September 2017 via mobile

This town is truly amazing it has so many amazing churches we have been to a few and all have outstanding decor when you take into account the number of similar places in a relatively small location. It's free to get in although I'm sure the church apprecIate a donation. The works of art here are very nice all worth seeing.

The Convento de Belen is among the five most beautiful churches in Antequera and is a must visit. The altars are quite beautiful and the church has many places painted in the Mannerist style, that are quite elegant. The ceiling has many plaster moldings that give the church a special and elegant style. I especially liked the altar of St. Joseph and the Christ Child, which is quite beautiful.

The façade of the Convento de Belen is quite simple but elegant. The cupola is quite impressive and the interior has plenty of plaster decoration. The sculptures, one of Christ Fallen on the Mountain, and the Virgen de los Dolores, are quite impressive. Other sculptures are those of San Miguel Arcangel, Santa Clara, San Juan de la Cruz and San Bruno. This makes the church quite impressive.
