Like the previous reviewer, we arrived at the apartments later in the day and were told that we had been allocated an apartment down the street, about 150 metres away. We were tired and in no mood to argue. The apartment itself was fine but the noise from the building work across the road was terrible. I can not over state how bad it was. The place literally shook from 8 am to 6 pm. We complained to the apartment manager but, even though he was sympathetic, he said he couldn’t help us. As a consequence we spent most of our four day holiday well away from the apartment, which was a pity as it was a nice, well equipped place with a lovely terrace which we simply couldn’t use.

Once the building work is finished I’m sure it will be fine...in fact I’d recommend it highly. Before then, I’d double check with the owners beforehand or you may in be in for a shock.

Room Tip: Check beforehand with owner as to where exactly you’ll be staying. And, if there is there building work going on nearby.

We arrived late for our check in due to delayed flights. We rang ahead, on arrival at the airport, to warn of the delay but the person who answered the phone didn't speak English, which I thought was strange, especially as they're dealing with tourists. We would not have been able to converse with the receptionist were it not for the lovely Solhop lady taxi driver who spoke to her on our behalf. The check in and check out is not great, with lugging suitcases around the block, to different blocks of apartments, and different streets. We got the dated block of apartments, not the modern ones on the website. The building was just like a house, with no name on the front, so quite difficult to locate. I had booked a 2 bed apartment for our party of 3, with a double bed in one room, and twin beds in another, but we got 2 double beds. This was okay for us as one of the party did not travel, but it would not have been acceptable if 2 of us had to share a double bed. There is a bed settee in the sitting room, but it smells, so it could do with a good steam clean. There is one en suite, with shower/bath, but no toilet. There is a closet bathroom in the hall, with the only toilet, with a shower that soaks the whole bathroom due to having no proper shower door or curtain. The worse part of the stay was the building works, in a site across the road, going on from 9am to 6pm, of which we were not warned, with pneumatic hammers, drilling, and vibrations going on all day. The apartments were clean with everything needed for a stay. Nice terrace out the back, with a table and chairs, to sit and have a meal.

I did like the apartments, which were clean and well equipped, but the constant noise/vibrations, ruined our stay.

Room Tip: Avoid until the building works are completed

Stayed in Abril apartments 18-23 January. Excellent apartments with lovely décor and the most comfortable bed. Kitchen was well equipped. It is a beautiful typical Spanish building on a very quiet street (well, quiet in January!) but we had a really relaxing break and would definitely recommend and return to Abril Apartments. Note that check-in is at Hostal Abril in next street, Calle Pintada.

Lovely stay in the heart of Nerja. The apartments are modern and very clean and everything you need for any type of stay you require. Close to all amenities including main supermarket, restaurants, bars, shops, and balcon de Europa.

Apartamentos Abril are superb, situated in a quiet typically Spanish side street, with the small Juliet balcony, the building is beautiful, marble staircase with antique furniture adorned with lamps and orchids, fabulous.
Then the contrast of the modern apartment high gloss kitchen, pure white bedroom, spotlessly clean, these apartments are really good and very quiet, within a very short walk of all the restaurants, bars and the famous Balcon de Europa, I think the apartments and the hostal are family run and the mother who doesn't speak a word of English is delightful.
We stayed for 3 nights in March, we probably wouldn't stay in these apartments for a week in the summer due to the fact that there is no pool, there is however a roof terrace
which is perfectly adequate for a short stay.
We will definitely return.
