First visit to Seaham and had been told to visit Tommy...what a fantastic piece of artwork depicting a WW1 soldier. Very thought provoking and moving. So glad we went.

Brilliant sculpture. Just got to say hello each time you go to Seaham. Excellent representation of Ww1 soldier.

This is a lovely piece of artwork depicting North East history where "Tommy" as he affectionately known wearily sits to stare out at sea forever. The story goes that "Tommy" was on loan to Seaham where on the expiry date, the residents of Seaham clubbed together enough money to buy the artwork to remian in their town. If passing close by you should also touch "Tommy" for luck :-)
