Description: The Ffolkes has been lovingly refitted and restructured with a £2m investment during early 2017. Think Poldark, think pewter, copper, Hessian, leather, soft velvet, and rustic wood. We have taken down barriers and let in the light to create a comfortable open space with nooks and crannies to suit even the most discerning of travellers. Join us from 7am through to 9pm for all-day dining. We are positioned on the main A149 Lynn Road, 3 miles from Sandringham Norfolk with a large free car park to the rear.

We have eaten twice at the Ffolkes in the last month and both meals were poor and the service quite rude which really disappointed us as we eat regularly at all the other linked restaurants which have always been excellent so we cannot understand why the Ffolkes is so poor . The pie carvery is not good with a choice of one pie , all in tinfoil with most having piped mash potatoes on top and veg , potatoes and very weak gravy. we thought we would try the main menu but again the food was not very good and not to the standard of all their other restaurants . Most importantly the staff were very rude. At 10pm the waitress came over and said , I am cashing up , do you want another drink or the bill so we felt we had to leave . We won't be returning or recommending to friends unfortunately.

We previously have known the Ffolkes Arms as a pub. However we have not revisited since it was revamped . We decided to pop in on the way back from a trip out. We found that near the entrance we had to wait near a stand to be seated. This made us feel that there is an expectation that you will order food rather than just visit for a drink. However we were interested to see what they could deliver in terms of food and service so I ordered the 'home baked chicken pie' with chips and peas (veg option was also available). I had a choice of beef or vegetarian gravy too. My husband ordered pork belly, mash and mixed vegetables.
We had about a 20 minute wait but it was worth it. Both meals was very hot, well presented and cooked. There was plenty of fresh vegetables. My pie was very good. The short crust pastry nice and crisp.
Staff were responsive and efficient. There were lots of families eating together, and a nice buzz to the place. It looked like you could book a small room just off of the main eating areas. I asked if they just served drinks and was told that there was a small bar area but it was being used to serve food too as they were busy for Easter.
The Ffolkes is both children and dog orientated. Nice friendly service offering to bring water for a dog near to us. There are some small table games for children.
My husband and I were seated away from families with children without having to ask.
The menu had a good range to choose from with mains from about £12.00 upward. They had a grazing menu too if your just a little peckish. Puddings were about £6.00. We were nicely full and did not order puddings.
There is a large car park to the rear of the Hotel and restaurant.
We would certainly return to eat.

I ate from the main menu, a selection of tapas style dishes which were imaginative, arrived in good time fresh and hot.

Today was my first visit to the Ffolkes since the refurbishment and what a disappointing visit I had. The décor of the place is very nice and modern, shame about the quality of the food and the service. I met with a group of friends for breakfast. We were greeted by a pleasant member of staff who informed us it was a help yourself style breakfast. First of all we thought we would get drinks - we had to ask for more glasses for juice and cups for tea/coffee. Then there was an issue with milk for the drinks - they only had one large bottle of milk which was for the cereals, so we had to ask for some milk in jugs for the drinks at the table. We then went to the buffet area to get breakfast. The plates were stone cold so the food did not stay hot very long. There was no eggs, so we had to ask for them, not enough bread for each of us to have a slice of toast and the butter was rock hard and unspreadable. The food was edible but not very hot and not very tasty. The place was not very busy, so there was no excuse for the items that are required at breakfast not to be readily available. The price is expensive for what you get, not very good value for money. I was very disappointed and will not be returning in the near future.

Our first trip to The Ffolkes and we were not disappointed! The restaurant itself has been beautifully renovated, we had a snoop around and loved the cozy snug areas. Lots of attention to detail in the way of decorating.
Our food was tasty, we ordered pies and chilli all of which we enjoyed, desserts were good to! Not sure the menu changes very often but there is a good selection of food on offer so finding something you’d enjoy wouldn’t be difficult.
Shout out to staff members Rozi and Charlotte who were friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu answering any questions we had - even took a photo of our party!

Would definitely go back.
