Description: Did you know? Despite not being an Indian restaurant, The Journeyman was recently shortlisted at the British Curry Awards and voted in The Independent Newspaper's survey of the top 50 restaurants to eat curry in the UK! Our location on the historic Saint's Way in the picturesque hamlet of Mellingey is a short 5 minute drive from either Padstow or Wadebridge & only 1/2 mile from St Issey. We have a large, free car park on site. We're ideally placed for that special night out, a family occasion, or just a chilled evening with friends. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of our restaurant's mill dining room on long summer evenings or cosy autumn nights. The Journeyman's extensive menu offers something for everyone with over 40 dishes selected from the world's finest cuisines.

We were taken here one Friday evening by my sister in law and brother in law who go fairly regularly. Understandably why . Food is excellent . Service very pleasant. This is not your typical Bangladesh standard curry’s. This is carefully crafted Asian food by a Chef who has learned his craft. Which presumably is why there is also a cookery school. Really great evening Thanks . Will be back to try different dishes and will take a course in the future. A tip to Would be diners - make sure you book well in advance.

Our second time visiting this restaurant as a family. What can we say....absolutely brilliant again. We have visited many Indian restaurants in our time living in the Midlands, but can honestly say that The Journeyman is up there with the best. An unusual atmosphere maybe, as the restaurant is so small... you almost feel that you’re dining in your friends living room, but don’t let that distract you. The food is second to none & we love the fact that the chef comes out to chat with you during the evening. The kids were very well accommodated being offered half portions of everything. Overall a great experience. Padstow has a lot of fabulous restaurants on offer but The Journeyman has to be one of its best. Good, honest, hearty Asian food at reasonable prices. We’ll be back!

I have been meaning to come here for a meal for ages and finally made it last night.
Lovely cosy and intimate atmosphere great service and fabulous food.
My main regret - and I am mortified to say that I had no change to leave a gratuity. Please forgive me restauranteurs. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant can compare with any good Indian Restaurant outside the best in London. The spicing and flavours are great and everything is cooked fresh. The service was
welcoming and helpful.I had the Nepalese lamb with garlic and ginger which was rich, tasty and flavoursome.I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a good curry. The choice of ales, beers, cinders and wines were extensive and reasonably priced. Give the best a try.

Visited as we saw the reviews on trip advisor and can confirm the food was excellent, authentic and very tasty!
Very quick service, but was a quiet evening midweek so to be expected
Definitely recommend a visit here if in the area although it is a little off the beaten track
