Description: Bamboo is an urban industrial feeling restaurant decorated with Asian design elements, and offering a contemporary menu of Latin and Asian-inspired menu items. Bamboo has a world-class Sushi Bar, described in many publications and reviews as New York-style Sushi with a Caribbean twist. To top it off, Bamboo also features a fun, young, and dynamic bar and lounge area known as the Buddha Lounge, where our bartenders are itching to entertain. A resident DJ spins classic funk, soul, electro and lounge music on the weeknights which keeps the place buzzing until late. We serve food late into the night. Reservations are strongly encouraged, especially during high season.

Great place for sushi. Rolls were awesome and edamame was the right consistency. Service was also very good. Very nice place, hope to go back soon.

We have been to Bamboo Bernies many times and loved their location on the point across from Royal Islander. The most beautiful views of Maho Bay and beyond. After several hurricanes, they moved to Maho Plaza within walking distance to our timeshare. Took family of 7 there last year and even the grandchildren loved the food. So we decided to return tonight with our visiting friend who loves sushi. Not a sushi lover but knew the shrimp tampura and chicken skewers were awesome. Ordered the noodle bowl with all the veggies and added chicken, so did not order the skewers. Friend and hubby wanted the raw fish platter and they loved it. Had not ordered dessert in St. Maarten and been here 5 days, so said to friend, Paul, we must order dessert as you leave tomorrow. Took the recommendation of homemade chocolate ganache/ volcano cake with vanilla ice cearm and toasted pecans. Not ever experienced this epitomy of desserts and the guys were raving. So our waitress, Sabrina, brings out the pastry chef, Jan(Dutch) McKenzie to introduce him to us. He happens to have lived and so did his wife in the small towns of Indiana we are from and lives on the French side with 2 small children. So love connections and love to meet those who you may never know unless you take the time to be mindful and enjoy the journey.

I absolutely love sushi and this is by far the best I tasted. Started out with the vegetable dumplings steamed and chose the caribbean roll for the meal. Superb!

What a great night! Best sushi! when me and my girlfriend visited bamboo for our first time we didn't know what to expect but the inside is super nice, with great vibes and amazing service. Sushi rolls were fresh, coconut shrimp was amazing. Would recommend to everybody who enjoys good sushi!

The food was excellent- we eat at Asian and Sushi places frequently and in my opinion is that this is some of the best. Sushi for starter, lovely main course beautifully presented.
But the wait staff is possibly going to put the cooking staff out of their jobs. Service was simply very uneven, and while not unfriendly, just felt like it was a bit 'off.' We never saw our initial appropriately friendly waiter again, yet all the food (3 courses) arrived on time, but each with different staff. Plates were cleared on time, however no one ever came to check on us. The last waitress who took our dessert order was pleasant, but even she didn't come back with (the perfect) creme brûlée.
So I don't know if we'd go back, with so many good restaurants of that food caliber on the Island...
