Bod Idris retains the grandeur of its ancestry and provides spacious accommodation across both the ground and first floors and although some aspects of the house require attention (general maintenance/cleanliness) these quickly fade with the beautiful views of the Estuary which greet you each morning.
Nick is friendly and provided helpful advice and it was good to meet him to say Thank You on the morning of our departure.
Safe to say our few days away from home at this special time of year will be a happy memory.
This was our second trip to Bod Idris (the first being in April) and we're completely hooked. The house is spacious and overlooking the bay with a beach a hop, skip and a jump from the front door. Barmouth is an incredible town and we even got to see the fighter jets practising manoeuvres. Nick was always quick to reply to any queries we had as well as being very accommodating.
Seven of us visited for 4 October half term nights and had full use of the lower part of this very spacious holiday apartments.
We found Nick the owner very helpful and accommodating. He happened to be on site when we arrived and took the time to show us round.
The panoramic views are breathtaking, across the estuary and out to sea. The location to Barmouth was superb and you can be in the center within a few minutes.
The apartment we used was very spacious with four well appointed rooms all with unsuit. (Two rooms shared one) There is also an extra toilet for use when in the living area. We found the kitchen well equipped with a fantastic double cooker gas/electric.
A large dining area to easily sit eight people.
This holiday let is not suitable for wheel chair use due the steps to enter the property.
The one question I always ask “would you go back ?” Answer yes we would.
Lovely house with great views overlooking Barmouth Bridge Estuary and the mountains. Spacious rooms with everything you need and very comfortable. Would definitely go back preferably without storm “Brian”!! Perfectly located just outside the main part of town but close enough to all the shops, restaurants and pubs. Perfect area for seaside, walking, climbing and cycling.
Stayed in the ground floor flat last week in August. There were 6 of us in total, three teenagers, two parents and Nan. From the stunning views across the estuary to the spacious accommodation, we had a great holiday. The flat is so well equipped and the rooms were huge, en suite in all bedrooms( one shared). Short walk down the hill into town with lots of bars, cafes and shops. Crabbing and water sports at the harbour. Ferry across to Fairbourne and the miniature railway. Would definitely recommend this flat to all ages and hopefully will be booking again for next year. Thanks Nick.
