We booked for Saturday night and were not disappointed, the food was wonderful and the owner friendly and welcoming. The chocolate tart was one of the best we've ever tasted. If we lived closer this would be a regular for us.

Hi Katy

Thanks so much for your generous review, I must confess, as the snow was bad yesterday and we had many cancellations we felt obliged to finish the tart.
See you next time you venture out of the city and maybe stay next time.

Regards

Richard

I visited with friends for Sunday lunch. It was Mother’s Day, and there was only one mother in our group of 13 but this wasn’t an issue.

I had the beef which was excellent, with complimentary gravy and also some free horseradish. We were also given extra yorkies and gravy which was a welcome addition.

The house red is excellent and served in fantastic carafes which provide a challenge to even the strongest of wrists.

If you over indulge Be sure to ask for an excellent house blend espresso and a ‘beacons taxi’ to finish off the evening.

Thanks again, we will be back.

Had a brilliant afternoon at the Kestrel Inn after visiting with a big group for Sunday lunch. It was a great roast with plenty of food and the owner had great chat!

Accommodated for a birthday lunch on Mothering Sunday. 13 covers. Beers and wine flowed, food kept coming, the beef and the chocolate desert were perfect.

Thank you for a wonderful lunch. This is a great place to visit to eat, worth a detour.

It’s the nicest night out we have had in ages. Superb food, we ordered Pork belly, Fish and Lamb. We all cleared our plates, the food was fantastic. The Coffee and Walnut dessert was new one on me and was also fabulous.
The Owner was friendly and chatty, giving us a very warm welcome. It is a clean very well run pub, with B&B.
It is located in an outstanding location, to stay and tour the surroundings beautiful country side of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains.
We happened to go a Friday night when a local Band was playing. Which made to this lovely evening. We will definitely be returning again and again. Mike
