We travelled from San Pedro via La Quiaca to Turpiza just to take a tour with these guys based on recommendations and a more gradual ascent to altitude. We paid for an English speaking driver who was Raul, he was friendly and engaged our kids in his commentary. He was responsive to our requests for more time out of the vehicle and less stops with more time at each. Sulmas food was delicious, the first vegetables we had had in a while so we were very happy! Our youngest needed even more simple food than what we had discussed with La Torre ( they were very open to our food needs) so we should have been more specific on that.
The first day was a lot of driving so be prepared for that. We saw amazing sights every day but maybe should have booked a shorter tour than 4d/3n just because we already did the long bus ride from San Pedro.

Just came back from an amazing 4-day trip from Tupiza trough the National Parks and to Salar de Uyuni. David was a great driver, very safe and stopped at all the best places, because we left early we were often the first to arrive at a specific scenery! The cooking of his mom was great and more than enough! Both were always making sure we were happy and well taken care of. David told us a lot about the surroundings. Took his time. La Torre also offers English guides. Thank you so much for this experience!

We spent a sunset tour and then followed with a 3 day tour. The driver Clemente was very kind with safe driving and tried his best to communicate with us with our very limited understanding of Spanish language. He is very experienced and brought us to to site with the nice view of the salt lake, sunrise and sunset. The Chef Norma was excellent. Her cooking for our lunch at very remote sight seeing scene was delicious which was much better than what we had for dinner in luxurious hotels.

We did a 3-day group tour of the salt flats with Raul. What an incredible tour!! While Raul is with La Torre Tours, we had booked this trip using Flashpacker Connect (before we travelled to Peru for an Inca Trail/Rainbow Mountain Adventure).

Raul was there waiting when we landed at the airport and he took us to town so we could get a good breakfast and use the ATM before starting the tour. He had a playlist of great music that lasted us the whole 3-days. He answered any and all questions we had and was patient to capture the various pictures we wanted at all the stops. His English is very good!

I also need to mention that Raul was our chef on the tour too. Yes, he drove us and cooked for us too. Every meal he cooked was delicious and healthy too!! We'd have soup and then a protein with vegetables and rice or pasta. We ate so well.

This tour was indescribable when it comes to what we saw. The salt flats were covered with water which made for awesome reflective photos in the late afternoon. For the rest of the tour, we would be at these amazing rock formations in the dessert, and then a few hours later at a red lagoon filled with flamingos. We got to walk up to geysers, saw various wildlife, chilled in a hot springs, etc. Bolivia is a beautiful beautiful country!!

We stayed at a very nice hostel the first night. The second night we stayed at a hostel in the middle of the national park - our group was in a single room and we shared a restroom with the rest of the groups staying in the hostel. Not as nice as the first night, but we had a bed to sleep on and warm sleeping bags so we slept just fine before waking up to adventure more.

Thank you Raul for taking such good care of us. We enjoyed your cooking, the stories you shared throughout the tour, and the overall friendly conversation. We really enjoyed the trip!

My wife and I took a private tour with La Torre Tours based in Tupiza in mid March, 2018.. In brief, they are professional and deliver exactly what promised. Our driver, Omar, is an excellent driver, sociable and very reliable. He was very consciencious of the condition of the vehicle and regularly checked the tires given the harsh driving environment. The Toyota Land Cruiser was clean every morning and ready to go. Our cook, Maria, was also very good. She did a great job given the challenging conditions. Lodging was as described, actually a little better than we expected. Rooms were generally clean although some were better than others. Again, given the environment it was aceeptable.
We are seasoned travellers and have been to most corners of this planet, but we would rank SE Bolivia among the most spectacular with varied scenery, sometimes bordering on lunar landscapes. Come prepared, acclimate before embarking on the tour and you will enjoy an amazing voyage. We highly recommend La Torre. They were great.
