Dear nantara254,

Thank you very much for taking time to share your experience of the Camp.

We are extremely pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our aim is always to treat the Camp like our 'home' and our guests as visiting 'family' members and it is very gratifying when we know that we have succeeded. I have shared your kind words with the team and they very much appreciate that their hard work has been appreciated.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our magical Camp again soon.

My wife and I just returned from our second visit to the Tented Camp. Our first visit was in February 2014 and we stayed for 2 nights in tent 11. Our tent had a very nice view of the plains out beyond the resort. Sitting on your deck in Thailand, looking out across the river at Myanmar and viewing the mountains of Laos in the background is quite an experience. Having really only 1 full day meant we were quite busy ( a tour of the Golden Triangle in the morning, elephant training in the early afternoon followed by an incredible massage at the spa in the late afternoon). The massage at the spa takes place on a platform over the jungle; pure heaven!
Our second trip was in February 2017 for 3 nights. If you can spend the time, at a minimum take that extra day. I had requested a better view of the river and this trip we were given tent 2. An absolutely fabulous view of the river and the elephants returning from their rides (and contrary to other reviews, we heard no noise from reception or the restaurant). We were lucky enough to be there during the full moon and the view of the river at night was surreal. Laying in bed looking out of the tent at the river was a sight we will never forget. The extra day allowed us time to actually enjoy some of the amenities of the camp. Watching the sunset from the bar past the last tent was a great way to end the day.
While this was our second visit, there was enough change to make it feel like a new experience. During our tour of the Golden Triangle, our guide, noting we had done it before, took us across the Mekong River to Laos to a market. It was an interesting experience and a great place to buy elephant pants for gifts. The elephant training had changed from our previous trip and the path we took was great (especially the walk in the river to the Myanmar shore). And this time we went to the Hall of Opium Museum, which is very close to the camp. It was very interesting.
The food is wonderful and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
While we live on the east coast and the Tented Camp is a 24 hour trip, we hope to visit once again the next time we go to SE Asia.

Room Tip: All tents are fantastic. Tent 2 has a great view of the river.

My partner and I just got back from what can only be described as an incredibly amazing 4-night vacation at the FS Tented Camp. Without a doubt, it is among the best FS hotels in which we've stayed. Truly a magical experience training, bathing, and riding elephants; riding in a longboat; sleeping in a luxury tent in the middle of the jungle; traveling to; Burma; touring the Golden Triangle; eating fantastic Thai food; meeting the AMAZING staff (Eye, Wee, Seen); and receiving impeccable service the entire time.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough!! Thanks for an amazing stay!!!!

Room Tip: Tent 13 - Explorer's Tent - it has great views and is more private that some of the lower numbered tents.

We have been talking about visiting here for years and we finally made it happen. The day we did the mahout training I laughed so hard and had more fun than I have had in my life. What a great experience. Otherwise the place is probably overpriced for comparable rooms and service but what a unique experience. The guides were great and pros with the cameras to ensure you get great photos to remember your visit. Food was good, not great. Much like the rest of Thailand poor wine selection/prices and weak drinks but overall a very memorable trip. The elephant camp dinner as an upcharge was also a great experience. The chef sought us out at lunch beforehand to allow us to choose the menu. The elephants greeted us for sugar cane feeding that night with a camp surrounded by candles with our own live music and and ending with sky lantern release.

Room Tip: Room 6 had great privacy and central to camp.
