We visited The Tubkaak early May 2012, after spending 10days in the colourfull North & Chaotic Bangkok & Touristic Koh Samui.
Yes! Krabi & Tubkaak resort is the place to finaly calm down, walk in the soft sand and have your coctails in the beach :-)
We loved everything in the resort: our room with it's traditional architecture & the outside bathtub filled with fresh flowers, the excellent restaurant (thai & international cuisine), the amazing staff and the whole resort's architecture with natural creek & plants all around us.
Honestly, we couldn't ask for more.. An absolute paradise!!!
Highly recommended to those looking for something unique.

Room Tip: You can choose between rooms on the upper floor with balcony and the ground level ones with the small yard

We wanted a proper 'boutique resort' and there it was, the Tubkaak, completely hidden in the beautiful singing jungle of Krabi, yet with a direct access to a quiet beach, you almost forget you're in a touristic spot, there are so few people around you! Pretty rooms with stylish design & a super-comfortable bed provide you with the best quality sleep while you hear the chanting of nature outside your balcony window, pure heaven. While in other places, I would get bitten by mosquitoes, at the Tubkaak, there were none (they keep them away with a special smoke they spray around while you are sleeping). Food (delicious curry as well as succulent club sandwich), service (the real kind where extra basic things don't cost you extra money), spa treatments: we were totally satisfied.
Definitely want to go back.

Just back from third trip to Krabi.
Reluctant to tell the world about this little part of paradise but also wish to support the local economy.
Did not stay at Tubkaak which appears to be a very nice, quiet relaxing resort.
Have dined at the beachside restaurant previously - excellent and can thoroughly recommend.
Location on the beach, setting, scenery, food, background live music all good.
Had my partner's birthday dinner with a group of friends and staff went out of their way to make it an enjoyable evening.
Thank you Tubkaak.

Room Tip: Get a table on the timber deck or by the beach if weather is fine.

We stayed at the Anyavee next door, however the restaurant there wasn't the best. So we decided to try the restaurant at the Tubkaak, it was incredible, the staff we so friendly, they offered to show us round the hotel even though they knew we weren't guests. Everyday when we walked past they would wave and say hello. We ended up going there for lunch and dinner for the rest of our stay. It really made our stay exceptional.

Tubkaak resort is perfect. After the hustle and bustle of the touristy side of town, it is a real pleasure to come back to your beautiful eco-friendly resort at the end of the day and enjoy a lovely dinner on the beach. The rooms were spacious and well decorated and I loved my bathroom! The pool is an amazing place to relax and unwind, and the view from the beach is to die for.

Also, as the resort is a 20 minute car ride away from the main tourist areas - if you want to go for an elephant tour, diving tour or a speedboat tour around the islands, you can do so and then return to the tranquility of your hotel.

My only negative experience there was with the hotels hire car driver. On our first evening, we booked a car to take us to Ao Nang and asked to be dropped off in the centre of town. Unfortunately, our driver was not keen on getting into the busy areas and decided to drop us off at one lonely end of the markets strip. It was after a lot of walking that we reached our destination. So, if you book a car, know where you want to go and make sure he drops you there - you are paying for it after all!
