We enjoyed our four-night family holiday at the hotel. The Kids Club suited our two young daughters very well. There was plenty of arts and craft activities for them to do while my husband and I took Thai cooking lesson. The swimming pool was big enough to also feel like we have our own privacy. I will definitely recommend this hotel for a perfect family bonding time experience!

Just came back from a 5 day stay at the Sofitel resort and I must say that it was one on the most pleasant holidays in Asia. The hotel staff was great and the facilities, especially the Pool area were awsome!!.

Travelling with a 2yr old boy is not an easy task, however when one finds the friendly staff at the kids club life becomes easier. They were practically playing with all the kids around giving special attention to the younger ones even when us parents were around. For my son's 2nd birthday falling during our stay, a birthday cake was prepared and brought over to the kid's club for the occasion to share with the kids present. Even though my son might be still young to appreciate ,we parents did appreciate the gesture a lot.
A BIG THANKS TO THE WHOLE TEAM!!!!

The resort being remotely situated, we ate at the hotel every evening, food was good and once again the staff was service was very good. Again special attention was given to my son's food to ensure it was the 1st plate arriving on our table. I can say that he loved the Pizza & Pasta and so did we ,besides the Thai & Indian food.

Unfortunately good things have to come to an end, even here, the departure was made sweeter, by having some of the stuff accompaning us to our car and sending us off ,with special attention again given to our son.

A Big thanks to all the staff and a special thanks to the Robin Deb(GM). Looking forward for our next trip to Krabi and stay in Sofitel.

Cheers
Adrian

We stayed in Luxury King room for 4D/3N. Overall experience is satisfactory. Front office/lobby staffs are very friendly and helpful. Room is huge and clean, with pool view and nice balcony. The swimming pool is one of the largest in Thailand with lots of water activities, and kids friendly.
Kids club are well equipped, free entrance. Guests can choose from various activities available at kids club with reasonable charge.
We took a trip to Hong Island with speed boat organized by the hotel, app. 850bht/pax with lunch provided. The island has great view, although water is not crystal clear. Good place for swimming, fish feeding and sun bathing.
Breakfast is average, but the staffs are friendly. We sit outside the restaurant with great garden and pool view.
This is certainly an excellent place for couples and family with kids. Thumbs up to the management and staffs.

It's pricey, yes. But you get the quality you pay for.
Really exceptional staff, all very helpful, and going out of their way to accommodate the guests.
We stayed during low season, and this confines the evening choice of restaurant to one only.
If you want to dine outside, you have to make a reservation...

Room Tip: Get the superior room pool side, the 160 series, even quieter then the rest, but my guess the better choice during high season.

One of the great things about Krabi is that unlike Phuket, it's not incredibly built up and full of horrible little tourist bars catering to lonely men, the best part about the Sofitel? Even in Krabi, it's isolated, but not so far away that you'll feel miles from excitement.

When we arrived, they great you with a cooling drinking and a quick shoulder rub, nice little touch. But unfortunately, I had just discovered that my mobile had fallen out of my pocket in the cab! Luckily, I had the drivers card and the staff promptly called him back, got my phone, all whilst enjoying a great drink and soothing message!

The receptionist helping us was named Rachel, and she was extremely friendly and helpful. She gave us a quick tour, told us of all the amenities we could enjoy, and showed us to our room, hotels usually let the bellhop do that, so this was a nice touch.

The room was pristine, huge, and although on the ground floor, we had a beautiful view of the gigantic pool, but still maintained privacy with some well placed bushes.

The hotel grounds are huge, and I would recommend taking a dip in the pool, (but avoid the pool bar, it's neither here nor there), go to the lobby at sundown, they have a candle lighting ceremony which was lovely, and have a drink just outside Hemingways bar over looking the pool at dusk, cool sea breeze, great view, it's perfect.

There isn't much to eat outside of the hotel, which is fine since the hotel has fantastic food, albeit a little pricey. But as I came to discover, perhaps due to isolation, but everything in and around Krabi prices higher then in the city. Dinner at the Thai restaurant just past the lobby was excellent, even by Thai standards. I'm half Thai, grew up going to Thailand almost every year and having Thai food almost every meal, and this was still quite good. Atmosphere was lovely too.

Also try the cake shop, despite most Asian attempts at European patisseries failing, they actually turned out some delicious cakes and chocolate.

If have the time and money, visit the spa, it's excellent, of course, avoid it if you've had a heavy nights drinking.

They have a free boat service to an island, and I recommend taking it. The boat ride is quick, and they also offer food which they'll bring along for you. Island activities include kayaking around the island (highly recommend), snorkeling, and they bring bread so you can feed the fish which was a lot of fun. The boat leaves twice a day, I recommend going the earlier time as it'll already be warm and more resorts use the island too so around noon, the place gets a little crowded.

This hotel despite being far away from the center of Krabi (which they have free shuttle service to) has not skimped on the customer service. Everybody was polite and friendly and the whole experience was just wonderful.

On a side note, we arrived on a Wednesday and there was hardly anybody else there, but at check out on friday, lots of guests start checking in. So if you like peace and quiet, shoot for the weekdays, but even on weekends, this place was a winner.
