This rental is a beautifully appointed and maintained home. It is stylish and comfortable. The owner made the washer/dryer available and otherwise had all needed amenities. The location, on the ground floor, with a nicely shaded and planted patio, provided easy access to the beach. Located in the second building from the beach, there was a nice view of the ocean without the wind, which was considerable during our week there. The condo complex seemed to be well maintained. There was staff spraying for mosquitoes and a beach patrol every morning to rake and remove seaweed. The beach is a beautiful one, marred only by the constant arrival of quantities of seaweed with each tide. Don't know if this is a result of storms or always the case. Grocery stores, a boulangerie, and several good restaurants are just outside of the complex on the main road.
No need to rent a car. Owner has a taxi she sets up from airport. Unit is near market, bakery, restaurants, bank, car rental, etc.
Took great excursion through Pro Excusions to Saona Island. We were picked up at the hotel next door for an all day boat trip out of Bayahibe.
Also rented a car and drove to Macao Beach for a day of surfing. Restaurants on beach.
Be care not to eat food not cooked. Easy to get sick on veg. and fruit eaten raw and rinsed in tap water.
Lovely beach with fewer vendors than most hotels which is a plus.
