What a fun experience! We came down to participate in the David's Trail Endurance Run in January 2016. Rocking Chair Resort was the trailhead and base for the race, and all the after race festivities happened around the resort as well. The resort was easy to find and well laid out. We stayed in one of the condo units, #16. The resort is very pet friendly, and my dog was greeted warmly by all the staff. Our condo was great, very large and airy with a lot of natural light. The kitchen was well stocked and had modern appliances and all the items necessary for cooking up a feast. The living room had plenty of comfortable furniture and doors that led out to a nice, wide deck. There are two bedrooms, the master bedroom also has doors leading out to the deck. With central heat and air and lots of hot water in the bathrooms, our stay was very comfortable. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we are going back in just a few weeks! The access to David's Trail is just a short walk from the resort, it's so nice to get in a full day of hiking and exploring and then be able to go back to our room for a hot shower and soft bed! We recommend staying at Rocking Chair Resort!

Hands down the best family resort iv been to in years! Clean cabins, Pet friendly and the staff is just great! They really know how to make their resort feel like home. My family will definitely be visiting here again this summer.

Room Tip: Bring pool towels and pool toys (if you have kids)

We stayed over Thanksgiving weekend in the "duplex" cabin #11 and #12. We had reserved a smaller cabin, but the owner said she had a water heater issue with the one I had reserved and upgraded us at no additional cost.

The cabin was clean. It was eclectic and I actually loved that the furniture was random and a bit outdated. The kitchen was also stocked with a random set of pots, pans, utensils, dishes, cups. But it was more than everything you needed to cook for yourself. There was even an electric griddle for the pancake mix I had brought. And a coffee maker with filters.

It was a short, off season trip. We didn't spend any time on the grounds, so I can't rate anything but the cabin. We didn't even go exploring the grounds as it rained the entire time and we had other things planned anyway.

BTW, Fred's Catfish restaurant, which is a mile away on the big road, was THE BEST catfish I've ever had. I'll be rating that five stars too, but thought I would throw it in here, because it's just so close.

I spent some time at the rocking chair resort in Mountain Home Arkansas in the offseason. And nice clean cabin with all the comforts of home. I really enjoy the nature trails cut out in the middle of the Ozarks. A beautiful walk and well maintained. Enjoy time out on Lake Norfork in one of their pontoons. And the dock is located perfectly to enjoy the sunsets. Looking forward to spending some time in the busy season and taking the grandchildren where we can enjoy our personal fire pit the swimming pool the clubhouse not to mention the play area outside. Thank you Bob and Jane for your hospitality you too and your family are awesome host

Where to start? The owners are amazing people who cater to your every whim. I believe they genuinely care about you and making your stay the best possible experience. The 2 bedroom condo was clean and well kept. The air worked great and was a much needed relief from the 100 degree days. It was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Nice little deck off the back with a charcoal grill for cooking out. The pool was awesome with a great water slide for the kids. They even stocked it with pool toys & diving masks! They have a little store that supplies you all the things you forgot; which we did. Rented a boat and they gave us life jackets, even let us use a tube for a few hours. Only 10 minutes from Mt Home, right on the lake with their own private docks. Overall it was a great trip. Can't wait for next year's family reunion, we will definitely be back. Thank you all for a great vacation!
