Well the good things everyone says about the place as so true, everyone around the area is so polite kind and welcoming, Frank one of the managers was very accommodating we came for a weekend and didnt arrive till 9.30pm notes and instructions were left. House was boiling hot when we got in which was lovely and so was the hot tub.- let us check in the next morning ann another manager very friendly and helpful and chatty lovely hosts!

They are great hot tubs and brilliant to chill in, they even provide plastic glasses. The houses are very modern and equipped well, a couple of dishwasher tablets were there which was handy as we only ran it twice. A brilliant all round place.

As people have mentioned the private hot tubs are not that private but if you get one of the end charltons we had number 19, no one walked past once there was not a need, but its not a huge complex like centre parks so even if you had a middle one im sure you would only have a couple of people walk past on your stay.

All in all fantastic stay, fantastic value, value people- highly recommended- and a nice warm hot tub- Thanks Frank and Ann :D

Room Tip: Lodge 19 (Charlton) is good one :)

Just come back from a relaxing four day break in kemble with my partner. All in all we had a great time. We were really happy with the accomodation which was clean and done out very nicely. Really comfy beds good bathrooms with power shower everything you could need in a kitchen. We felt settled straight away. We were really pleased and found it very good value for money. The setting was lovely as was the local area. We went a away to have a nice chilled outbreak and it was.

All the cottages are connected so its not absolutely private as you do get people walking past your living room window or driving past the end of the garden while your are in the hot tub.

We did enjoy the lovely hot tub but I will say that the area could do with some finishing touches. The hot is not in a covered area so if its raining its out of bounds really and also the area around the hot tub should really be slabbed as it turned out to be very muddy in the wet weather - not particularly what you want to step into coming out of the hot tub.

The only thing I would say is that make sure you bring absoulutely everything with you. There isnt even as much as a tea towel to wash up with! Nearest shop is about 8 miles away so stock up!

If someone surprised me with an unexpected wknd away here - i would be very pleased.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Sorry to hear that you felt there is not enough privacy,We do have plans to extent the wall between the houses in the near future to afford more privacy.
Wedo not have plans to cover the hot tubs at the momment, I agree it can get very muddy around the hot tubs and will look into the costs of extending the slabbed area.
We do provide every house with a starter pack. I:e Toilet paper,Blackbags<Diaswasher Tabs, Washing up Liquid, Dish cloth and Tea towel, But we are SELF CATERING so we expect our visitors to provide there own after ours are used up, You should have had a Tea towel and i am soory none was supplied, If you had informed us in the Club House we would have been pleased to provide you with one.
we are pleased that you had a nice stay and look forward to seeing you in the near future.

Me and my partner stayed at oakley park this week ( kemble) for our first anniversary together. On paper it looks great and to be fair the accommodation itself is nice but we had several issues

- radiator in bedroom did not work at all
- bedroom door was jammed ( they knew about this before we arrived) luckily we had an ensure
- kitchen utensils were dirty we have to clean everything before we used it
- general cleanliness of the cottage could have been better e.g what appeared to be dry baby sick on chair, cobwebs all over the ceiling
- cracked bathroom tiles, grouting needs re-doing
- main issue HOT TUB! I complained to hoseasons about this due to the fact the water smelt awful, and appeared stagnant. When staff did come round to sort it they did not empty the tub only filled it up with clean water from a hose then stuck a chlorine filter in and told us it would be fine. Needless to say me and my partner were very reculant to use it! During our four days there no one came to check the cholrine levels or the condition of the tub.

We went to the park off season so the bar was not open and there was not many people around. When my partner raised issues with a man who appeared to be one of the owners, he was told the place was in administration and that they could not afford to sort out all the issues in all of the cottages not just ours. We found the staff abrupt and not very welcoming.
I am really disappointed that the main reason we went was for the hot tub which we wouldn't risk using. Would I use the park again, yes ONLY if under new management. As the staff there seem not to care about the condition of the houses with the place being in administration. Back in its good days I'm sure it was great, as previous positive reviews suggest. But me and my partner feel the place is being left to rot. Please bare the above in mind if your thinking about going, it may appear I'm being negative but all this is, is a genuine honest review, from a person who paid a lot of money and was left very disappointed.

Rooms were very spacious, 3 double bedrooms upstairs and a slightly smaller room downstairs which still had room for 2 people to share. Enough wardrobe space for everyone but take your own coat hangers as between the 7 of us we had approx 9 to share.
3 big bathrooms but wouldnt recommend all using at once and if all using around the same time the water went cold.
Make sure you take your own toilet roll, dish cloths, dishwasher tablets, and a couple of bin bags as these are not provided.
Our hot tub wasn't in the best location as we had to stand on the mud to get the top off which wasnt easy for 2 shortish girls especially when it had been raining. The hot tub also wasn't very warm on the first night so would check the temperature before getting in - if its below 37 then its not worth getting in until the next day when as it should reach 40.
Telly was a bit of a nightmare with Signal but we were happy to watch DVD's which we took with us.
The local shop was miles away so make sure you're stocked up or with someone who isnt going to be to hungover to drive as it isnt walking distance.........unless you dont mind walking 14 miles.
Utensiles in the kitchen were fantastic, and fairly easy to use.
Would say the location would be better to go to around Christmas with your families, with a other couples or for the more mature.

Various branches of our family stayed here either side of a wedding in Marlborough, Wiltshire,
and weddding reception at nearby Winkworth Farm. We had five houses of various sizes and everyone enjoyed their stay very much.
We can only agree with all that has been said by previous reviewers. If you are staying around numers 17,18, etc you will need a torch as there are no "street lights" and if everyone has switched off their exterior house lights it will be very dark.
The attractions and eating places in the area are too numerous to mention.
If something doesn't work, or if you need anything just ask.
