Great location! Better than expected!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 Jun 2024
Great service and nice room! We slept very comfortably. The bathroom shower was especially lovely. It's in a prime location walking distance to a river and many places to eat and drink including a sizeable mall. The local ramen and beer was a highlight of our trip. We didn't use the onsen as my tattoos weren't allowed (couldn't be hidden) but it looked like a great location for families. The breakfast was yummy each day before we went out to hike in the mountains. My husband was particularly a fan of the natto. They also give you onsen clothing to wear around the property. The only thing to note for western visitors is if you do laundry lighten the loads if you want it to dry in a reasonable time. We ended up taking a longer than average time to get ours done because we didn't know that in Japan people usually do lighter loads.

Hotel location is good. Staff is helpful. Room is spacious and acceptably clean. Stayed only 1 night hence unable to justify a higher rating. Provide ample parking space and its free is a plus point.
Overall it more than serve our need as a 1 night resting point before continuing our drive.

In for a great surprise - electric baths! It hurts but heals too.
Sophisticated onsen facilities. Great facilities and very near to the Santouka original Asahikawa ramen. Very convenient...I went to the bus stop to take the bus to the Ashimaya zoo but good to take note that zoo closes at about 3pm during winter so good to plan accordingly

Room tip: Electric baths - Must try but not for the faint hearted :)

Great hotel located near the main station. There is also a great beer & BBQ place nearby. The hotel has a great Onsen open to the public with multiple baths, deep tubs and more. One of the best I've been to. You can walk to the centre in 15 mins of drive as there are many parking lots around Asahikawa.

The great thing about traveling around Hokkaido is that most hotels have awesome breakfast and if you're lucky enough an onsen spa. This hotel had both.

Our train arrived a bit early so wasn't able to check-in to my room right away; however, the staff delivered all our bags to the room we left with them by the time we came back. Although the hotel is close to the station, seemed like a bit of a hike in the cold. Wasn't so convenient with our rollers.

Staff were super nice as expected of a Japanese hotel and the rooms were surprisingly spacious. The highlight of the stay was the breakfast... food quality is great. This alone makes the experience awesome! The Japanese onsen was included so took advantage every night! Onsen was fine (been to better ones around Japan) but loved that they had an outdoor section so I can soak in hot water in the frigid air.

Overall a solid hotel. Well worth the money we paid~

The room is massive by Japan standards, stayed here for one night and mostly used it as a place to drop luggage but the free onsen and the massive room was a huge plus. Walking distance to the JR station and shopping mall as well.
