Positives: Excellent and original foods in great location. Four of us had two appetizers, two entrees, and two salads plus three glasses of wine. The bill with tip: $145. Squid ink linguini is scenic, though I found it to be otherwise not exceptional. Papardelle pork was terrific, as was a shrimp appetizer. Service was good.

Negatives: Pricey glasses of wine (good selections), and a noise level that kept us from having anything resembling a normal conversation. In their defense, other people do not seem to mind that noise level in the modern trendy restaurant, and it was a full house on a Saturday evening.

I wish this were a little quieter because I loved the food. You cannot talk over dinner even to the person across from you. If I go back it will be at an off hour when there aren't a lot of people but the way it is built with high ceilings and no sound break it is a real problem. The Caesar salad is honestly the best I have ever had. The raviolis were different tasting and delicious too. Others in our group had the steak which was very good and enough to share with really good potatoes.

I have gone here 3 times in past 6 months. I have had pasta, pork chops, and steak. All fantastic including tastes from friends entrees. Appetizers were great too. Right by Berkeley Rep and Freight and Salvage so it can be a night of great food and entertainment.

Went here prior to seeing a production at Freight & Salvage. Had the spaghetti with Tuscan sausage. Great dish and very filling. Wait staff very friendly and personable.

This is one of our go-to restaurants in Berkeley. We've eaten here at least 10 times over the past three years. The food never disappoints; it is a small menu but everything works. We start with salads and usually go for a pasta and one of the secondi. The wine list--around 8 whites and 8 reds--is short but well compiled; all wines are available by the glass or bottle.

It is right next to Comal (an excellent, but very different, restaurant), very easy to get to by BART or bus. Park for a fee in the parking structure off of Center Street.
