We had asked our travel agent to find us a good hotel in Los Angeles. His first choice was in Sacramento which we rejected as being too far out. We thought, mistakenly, that would mean that he would find something closer to what we wanted to see. Our mistake was not checking so that was our fault for being stranded a long way from what we expected. Also, we thought the Hilton brand was bound to be good.
There were a few notable exceptions to our experience during our stay at the Hilton. The concierge staff were superb and the manager should give them a bonus. They were unfailing helpful. Courteous and friendly. Excellent. There was one waitress at the included breakfast who was really lovely. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name as I was feeling very unwell that morning( and every other morning but she was the only one who noticed).
The rest was mediocre at best. The check in was indifferent. We were offered a bell boy but not with any enthusiasm and we had wheelie luggage so we just trundled off in the vague direction indicated. Our room was nice enough. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but reasonably well appointed. The biggest problem was the lack of instruction about how to access service. Nothing on paper in the room. Apparently, it’s all on a tablet. Would have been nice to have been told that at check in. And when we did need service, the tablet didn’t work because it hadn’t been charging. The mini bar was warm. Apparently that’s ok because it’s not a fridge! We were offered a fridge for $25 but it wasn’t clear if that was for a day or the whole stay( four nights). Our room got serviced once during our stay. We asked for it to be left alone on our first full day but after that it only got cleaned once.
Check out was slow. And they tried to charge us for one of the included breakfasts. That was rectified immediately but I suggest that you check your bill carefully.
Getting out of the place was a nightmare. There was some sort of major convention about to happen and people( apparently important ones) were turning up in droves and dumping their cars for valet parking. Our driver had managed to get in but only managed to get out to get us to the airport on time by some very clever driving( the wrong way against the traffic). Don’t go there if you want a cosy couples stay. They don’t care about little couples. They are happier with the big crowds.

This hotel is as it should be with nice well fitted rooms and a great location for LA . The hotel has a great reputation and in parts it rests on its reputation . Our check was a very nice and helpful . Check out was matter of fact and unfriendly . It met our needs but did not exceed them . A 5 star stay in a Bangkok Hotel is far more satisfying and pleasing and always exceeds in service ..

Room Tip: Pay extra for a renovated room with balcony

Housekeeping went above and beyond laying out bathroom items on a towel at the side of the sink in an orderly manner. Front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Concierge was also extremely friendly.

Spent a lovely Sunday/Monday celebrating my hubby's birthday! Had a beautiful cabana pool deck room that opened up right near the day beds that we rented for the day! Pool was amazing, pool side service awesome and they even brought my husband complimentary birthday cake by the pool. Dinner at Circa 55 was amazing! We had plans to do a lot of things locally, but the hotel and pool were too good to leave, so we spend the entire time there. The music by the pool is fun and soothing and the way it lights up at night is amazing! The staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful. They were very accommodating when we requested a room change on arrival and we will definitely be back! Lots of families having fun. A very chill and relaxing place to indulge, have fun, yet leave feeling refreshed and satisfied, can't wait to go back! xo

Room Tip: Get a cabana room! Rooms 106-111 are the best.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Check-in was carried out in under a minute and I was given a great room with a large bathroom and all the expected amenities. If anything was missing, I could request it via an iPad provided by the hotel and it would be there by next morning. The location is unbeatable, as Rodeo Drive is within walking distance, as is Westfield Century City. There's a wonderful swimming pool with a good variety of poolside drinks and food, plus a fitness center that seemed quite complete. The Concierge was very attentive and Brandon, the hotel porter that helped me with my bags when leaving, went out of his way to assist me. All in all, I loved the hotel and will certainly be returning next time I'm in LA.
