Stayed here for two weeks in Dec/Jan 2017.
About the Villa: very well appointed, with AC, ceiling fans, internet and all the confort of an upscale residence. Plenty of storage for your kite gear. At night there is a gentle fresh breeze, so you can sleep with the windows open. And you can kick back and relax by the pool, after a long day kiteboarding.
About the kite spot: I've explored most of the island chain so I can say that the best kiteboarding spot is exactly the one right in front of the villa. You don't need to look no further. Flat, waist deep water and, most importantly, sandy bottom. The wind is side or on shore. This is by far the most friendly place for learning and the best place where advanced kiters can dial in new tricks. The wind range goes from upper 20 knots to lower teens. Bring your quiver if you can. But if you miss the right kite size you can still rent.
About the island: this is a very safe place. You can leave all your stuff in the car without worries. Locals are very friendly and welcoming. There are supermarket open until late in the night where you can find everything you need.
Getting around: I would recommend getting a rental from Sea La Vie. They have this wonderful 4 wheels drives that are perfect for a couple and their gear. They also have big vans for big parties. They're rental rates are the best on the island.
About the hosts: Majid and Hoc are the best guys you will ever be lucky enough to meet. Both passionate advanced kiteboarders, always smiling, always very inclusive. They will share with you priceless local tips that will make your vacation truly special.
