I was very much surprised about this hotel being given a four star rating. The description of the rooms and the pictures on Booking are misleading. Almost all rooms are in the attic (2nd floor) but some do not have windows (just a small velux on the ceiling) so there is no view of the garden. However, they are at the same price with the normal rooms. No room has a balcony. The ventilation is ensured by a noisy air cooler. Room facilities are modest for 4 stars (plastic glasses, poor quality linen, only one nightstand and one table lamp, only one electrical socket, stained carpet). In the court yard you have nowhere to relax in the shade (with the exception of a small area were is located the restaurant). The mini zoo is neglected and the poultry are locked in dirty cages. A sad and weak dog is locked in a similar cage. All tourist attractions are accessible only by car. breakfast is very basic with no local specialties, fruit or yogurt.

Room tip: ask for a room with normal window to get a nice view of the garden

If you like a classic baroque style, this castle is a suitable location for a good accomodation. Lovely decorations, historical figures paintings , old but valuable furniture, excellent food and table service, nice and spatious clean rooms, all these for a reasonable price. Highly recommending it

Hotel Castle Haller is a very nicely restored old habsburg castle in Ogra, Mures county, Romania. The old building was restored keeping the middle age aspect. Real wood was used in all rooms and hallways. Restaurant is also nicely designed.
Hotel has a spa area with a pool with saltwater, a children pool and a hot tub. At the pool you can eat or have a coffee, or take advantage of the salt room or sauna.
Definitely a nice place to stay near Targu Mures

Easy to find, nicely located near Târgu Mureș,the Haller Castle is the perfect retreat one can desire after a busy week. The opulent, vintage design matches perfectly with the atmosphere of the place, the spa area offering all what anyone can ask for.
We stayed there for 4days-3nights and enjoyed each and every minute. Make sure you don't miss a massage and also the excellent meals the restaurant offers.
Suitable for couples, families or lonely travellers, with a child-friendly courtyard, the Haller Castle is also appropriate for team-building activities.
Very helpful staff at the front-desk, excellent waiters.
We'll definitely come back!

The property is a gem. From the front alley leading there or the fine garden, to the laid back terrace, warm reception hall and decorated stairway, all the way to the elegant rooms and restaurant or the countless ad-ons that grant the whole place the family atmosphere, everything stands out from this point of view. Service is fair, staff are helpful and prompt, even though they could smile more (personal and arguable point off view); they helped us with packed breakfast (which was diverse and tasty) and kept notice of our rooming preferences to the very last detail. The restaurant is beautiful, music is appropriately chosen for the place (for once in this country) and the restaurant staff are kind, polite. Food is above average, with interesting menu items and a good selection of wines. Maintenance and fittings create the rub though, especially as far as bathrooms are concerned, with shower cabins dated, badly sealed and sometimes leaking and in some cases with inappropriate fixtures and tiles or paint. But then, nothing and nobody is perfect, and the many qualities by far exceed these issues at the Haller. Therefore, a recommended place to lay back, relax and enjoy life, the window wide open day and night.

Room tip: I would go again for the upper floor rooms, with a back view (opposite the main road and remote highway) being quieter.
